I just recently got an 09 Tacoma TRD Sport, and am looking at tires. I wanted to see what people are liking the most and are getting good results from.

Great question. Nice specifics and details on use. Good thing this thread is started as I’m not sure anyone is discussing tires anywhere. Good luck!

The WildPeak A/T3W is a popular option that tends to work out well for many. I personally run the Pathfinder A/T on my last truck and was pleased with the performance they deliver for my needs.

Ultimately the right model for you will depend on your driving priorities/conditions and the performance attributes you need the tires to deliver.

What are you driving on now?

Man, this is some quality sarcasm. :hattip:

I run some Cooper AT3's on my first gen. They've been relatively quiet and are decent off road.

Keep running defenders. You are on the best tires for 95% of the driving the most people do here. They just don’t have extra rubber on the sidewall for “the look.” Embrace the practical side. They will take you anywhere you want to go, within reason.

'Why' they like them is more important. Many spend mucho bucks for the 'look'. Nothing wrong with looks. But function should be the lead on a life critical item like tires. If it happens to look good, all the better.

    ^ This right here.

The vast majority of trucks on this board are 90% pavement. If that's you too, the Defenders are a fine choice.

I too was indoctrinated by humor and it lead me to develop a healthy application for good posting, searching and build threads. Hopefully I wasn’t too unkind as that was not my intention.

After years of research and reading reviews (including here) I have put my Big O Bigfoots behind me forever** and now sport brand new Goodyear Wrangler Duratracks. The Goodyears have already proven to be much better in snow but that would not be hard because **the Big O's sucked in both snow and wet roads. That said they were fine on the dry highway and off-roading in southern Utah so if you live in a warmer drier climate Big O's mike work for you. They have a great warrenty and were lasting well but I needed to switch so bad I gave them away with about 20k left on the tread. The only real dingers I could find with the Duratracks was occasional complaints about tire noise and I'm not sensing that, or it isn't something that bothers me.

And Cudos to Cudgel for the great sarcasm.

I'm curious about tires... and wheels. Does that make me bicurious?

In all seriousness, I'm running Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws and love them. Great so far in all conditions and terrain. The first week with them on my truck I had to pull a behemoth Dodge 3500 dually out of some red clay/dirt mess. He was buried to the axles, but the tires dug in without spinning and pulled him right out.
