Toyota specifies two different greases for 4Runner. I know the dealer only uses one type.

Do you use molybdenum disulfide lithium based chassis grease for the slip yokes only? Then use lithium based grease for the spider bearing?

    Just one.

It's grease. Push in new grease and push out old grease and contaminates. It's not worth spending time overthinking.

Grease the truck once a year and you will be doing more than 90 percent of the population does.

I like the red and tacky grease.

The fact that you are using grease on a regular basis, far outweighs whatever grease you use.

spider greasing is easy because you grease until the new grease comes out. For slide yokes, how many times do you pump? which grease do you use?

Which ever grease no more than 3 pumps. You can hydro lock the slip yoke.

The only issue is on my 1st Gen Tacoma is I need a special grease nozzle for the front drive shaft. Regular nozzles won't fit.

Just a funny aside, when I finally talk the wife into giving up our sequoia it's a 4runner to replace it.

I've got a 04 4x4. 186,000 miles on it. Now that all 6 boys are grown, its overkill. I put big ass tires on it and pulled the running boards. Looks good
