Hi guys, I have a 2018 Tacoma 4x4 auto, has 15k miles on it now. As the title states, I've been stopped on top of a speedbump on an incline (trying to get out of a paid parking lot waiting for gate) when I press the gas to go, the transmission clunks and almost makes like a screeching noise and the traction control light goes off on my dash for a split second before engaging in gear. This happened about 3 times now (twice in a parking lot on the speed bump and once at a stop sign on an incline). I should state all 3 times it happened, the vehicle slightly rolled back before the occurrence.

I took it in during my 10k oil change and mentioned it to the service writer and asked them to check my transmission fluid level since I read on here it can come low from the factory, they claimed they checked it and it was within spec and of course they tried to replicate it but couldn't.

Is this normal or something to be concerned about? Thanks! No other issues with the truck so far (knock on wood)

Quick question, how long was the truck in their possession when they "checked" the trans fluid?

Truck needs to cool down because the trans fluid on the auto has be be checked at a certain temp. I’d wager it wasn’t actually checked. You can easily do this yourself in the driveway and make sure its filled to spec.

Your experience sounds similar to others with hill start assist brake control.
    Normal? I've never experienced it.

How much gas are you giving it? Sounds like you're briefly spinning a tire.
