2 days of nothing but stop and go city driving on 93 base and I have nothing bad to report. In fact the cold shift flaring is gone as is the downshift clunk.

I don’t see the all cylinder misfire count PID listed anywhere. I even bought the extra Toyota pack. How/where are you seeing it listed?

To see all cylinder misfire count, you have to go back to main menu, click monitors, scroll to the right click mode$06, scroll down towards bottom and you'll see all cylinder misfire count.

I am running 91 base, I haven’t seen any misfires yet (only have like 15 miles on the tune) but out of curiosity, what is an “acceptable” Miss fire count in a, say, 50 mile drive?

guys - log your issues. mat was kind enough to send me the logger a few months ago but i've been swamped and the weather is cold and slick and snowy. not the best conditions to log. i know it's a pain doing it with a pc vs a handheld but if you want your issue fixed, this is the best way to get the most accurate information to mat so he can look into the issue.

also, 28 misfires is nothing really. my old ecoboost 2.7 had hundreds when a cylinder was fouling due to oil blowby. high load, low rpm, high throttle request can cause misfires and the ecu will back off the timing until it stops.

i'd really like to know more about the situation in which you saw 28 misfires.

The misfire thing is a real concern for several folks, some are just more vocal about it than others. I value Mat's hard work on the platform and fundamentally believe he's put his blood, sweat, and tears into nailing any outlying issues impacting some trucks. Fact is, without detailed logs, it's going to be a challenge for him to assess the root cause.

I would say that in ascertaining whether it's a hardware ISSUE vs. a tune ISSUE the barometer is Stock vs. Tune. For me, I get 2-4 on a trip cold or warm on stock, but on the last batch of 1.05 I had significantly higher. Mat took a lot of time to talk me through (via Zendesk) the progress he was making to eradicate said issues so I know he's making every attempt possible and is probably losing his mind trying to figure out what drives the variability in some trucks.

For me, for now, I'm still rocking the TSB despite having a kit in my glovebox and a new tune release in the last week. I'm less frustrated though b/c reality is 1.01b-1.03 versions are the only reason I kept my truck until B04 TSB dropped. I stay on the TSB primarily for the reason that I don't have the time or patience (for now) to mess with more iterations of flashing and logging. Not for lack of belief that Mat would take the time to address it eventually if I did a bunch of logging and back and forth, but just the reality that I've been at this for nearly 2 years now and my truck has become a bit of a unicorn in that the TSB actually runs really well on my truck. Better than most based on some other trucks I've driven. Complete opposite of when I bought it when I wanted to drive it off a cliff it drove so horribly on the B02 calibration it shipped with...

I enjoy watching the show in here though, and as things continue to improve and exceptions (odd trucks) are identified and addressed, I'll tip my toes back in the water at some point.

When I was on the stock tune, it was nothing for me to have 7-10 misfires on like a 10 mile trip.

How many do you get when you flash back to stock tune?

@OVTune, does the performance tune's D+ECT mode still change shift points? I wasn't able to notice a difference between D+no-ECT and D+ECT.

If there is a difference between them, does the gear-lock tune's D+no-ECT mode have the same shift points as the performance tune's D+no-ECT?

Awesome thanks! Can I have the cylinder missfire count added to the dashboard? Or do I just check that mode 6 page after every drive

ECT is only a single shift point routine, so when you press that button it uses that single shift routine regardless of whatever other mode or thing you're doing.
