You tell me sport. Small block v8 like a 305. Had a 95 Chevy with a 305 with stock exhaust. Sounds same. Now I didn’t say small block v8 with an upgrade exhaust then it sounds
Like big block. And big block v8 with upgrade well... that’s it’s own beast. Had a 6.7 big block stock sounded awesome

With the right set up you can achieve any sound you want. The power is another story.

I set my expectations too high, I was thinking like a cammed 350 type sound haha.

Nah bro. Stock small block. Ya ain’t gonna get a cammed 350 or anything close with a v6 at least not our 3.5. But I think this is what the poster was looking for. If he wants what your “expectations” were then either an engine swap or big speaker with a sound bite loop of a big block playing full volume while you drive around.

And you can’t capture the resonance off the lower tone with a phone for some reason. I’m happy dude and love it

All the neighbor down the whole block ( well about 10) front doors opened to find out what the hell was shaking there windows. It was god aweful loud. That a ticket quick

Like I said if you do a minor upgrade like I did you can definitely get a more aggressive sound. But not gonna swap out my brand new engine. I’m not balling like that. There’s a fine line between sounds bad ass and fucking stupid. I had a magnaflow on my accords 4 cylinder 87’, 91’, and 2014 and sounded great. Like a v6 no. But nice. But then there are the ricers ( actually a web paged devoted to them) who put on straight pipe flow masters with a 6” tip and sounds like a 4HP gas powered leave blower and there only going 30mph

    I would hope a 4.0 v8 would sound like a v8, since its a v8 and all

I don't think I'll ever change my exhaust from anything other than the stock one. In my opinion, these v6 motors just don't sound good at all. They have a weird raspy sound when you put anything aftermarket.

If it sounded more like the 3.7 in the 370z or the 3.0 in the MK4 supra, then I'd definitely consider changing out the exhaust. Even my 3.0 Camry has a nicer tone.

Until then, I will keep mine as quiet as possible.
