Pardon my ignorance since I'm not a wrencher in any way shape or form, but is the issue that both of those brackets should be perpendicular to the springs? The one that's at a cock-eyed angle doesn't look right to me.

Can you post the specs on your new shoes? Love the look! It is what I want on my Tacoma (yet to be decide which one but soon). I would love to know the rim information (i.e. size, width, offset, backspace, etc.), and tire size. I think you said somewhere is was 285/70 17, but not sure.

    Thanks.

Does anybody have the install "cutting" directions for the 3rd gen Tacoma Hi Clearance rear bumper? I tried archive etc. but I keep coming up with the measurements for 2nd gen installs?

Once I get it cleaned up, painted and installed I'll have a PB standard for sale in San Diego for anyone that missed out...

After the experience I had I'm not sure I want to go back and have them fix it. I highly doubt they'll reimburse me

I'm not either but from what I gathered from the manufacturer the bracket on the left was supposed to be removed so the one on the right sits flush.

It's so easy that you will wonder why you waited so long to do it.

Bolts are designed to squeeze parts together, and be loaded axially, not radially. The hardened pin that came with the hook would be a better choice, as pins are designed to carry load radially, and will have a much lower chance of shearing. Food for thought. Considering the amount of cycles on the tow loop (number of times you'll use it) is low it'll probably be fine, but since you have it you might as well use it.
