    Okay. I just installed some rigid pod lights and would like a cleaner install of the switch. I was hoping to find one that fits into a blank spot to the left of my steering column. So far I've only found Toyota ones from companies like caliraised, CH4X4, and MICTUNING but they are only rated for 3amps. Did a draw test and my two rigids are pulling on average 6.6 amps. Does anyone have any recommendation for a switch that is direct plug in that empty slot that is rated for more than 3 amps? I would like them to look as factory as possible. Color doesn't matter much because I am willing to disassemble and put in an amber to match the interior lights. I'm trying to avoid the rocker style like in this picture if i can so the styles all match and look at OEM as possible. Any help is much appreciated.

    The reason all these ch4x4 style switches are 3a is because they are designed for using a relay.

    Either get a relay and set it up (easy), or find a skookum switch that can handle 10-15a or so.

    Yeah I knew about the relay thing but I'm not ready for an spod just yet. But looks like I'll be using one of those aftermarket ones.

    Is skookum a Canadian thing? I watch a YouTube channel and he uses it all the time hahaha

    you dont need an spod, just pick up a relay and wire it in. 20 bucks tops.

    Yeah I know I didnt need one right away hut down the road I'll be adding more lights and a winch and such so I'll be going to spod route someday. But I guess one relay for now wouldn't be bad. Thanks.

    Something like that;
    Skookum is a Chinook Jargon word- means big, strong, good.

    For relays a 40a ‘hella’ type is around $20

    Link in sig to my build- I’ve got two relays mounted to the inner fender for my Baja Designs.

    I've had good luck with OTRATTW but not sure if they handle those. Check them out

    I'm guessing you are going on the left of the steering wheel. If so, remove the change tray and reach up behind, just a gentle nudge should pop out the blank.
