    One of the few commmanders over there who truly cared about his men instead of chasing the next promotion. The day I caught some shrapnel in my arm he sent his Jeep and driver to the flight line to take me to the aid station.

    I remember a few of my Squadron Commanders. One I remember signed and achievement medal and died in a training accident not too long after I got my medal.
