so i have a off road Trd package and ive noticed because its a 16 there's all these extra quirks, I have no understanding of. I installed an cold air induction kit from japan. Runs awsome cept im gaining to much air according to computer. Throwing code, figured i could fix if i reset truck. Yeah, no!! Not so easy, i did the whole disconnect the neg wire, turned it back on, all it did was a minor reset, truck still dumb as the mud holes i jump it threw. So can someone please help me out with how to get this thing to shift right, relearn my psycho driving habits, and turn my cruise control back on. Was driving like a dream before, but then did maintenance and put new intake on and been hell ever since, running so lean i cant stand it, nevermind the frustration of not having my cruise control. Im a firefighter so highway travel up and down and in and out of states often in the summer. Then i abuse it in the winter. Lol!! Cali sucks and will need to smog i think, next yr, and rich i ain't!! Thanks guys i know i probably just opened up pandoras box but, it's not my fault, its the red hair!! Any and all help will be grearly appreciated!!

Just put the stock intake back on bud. Should do it. Prepare for some fun comments.

Undo everything you've done and put it back to original stock.

    Welcome to the shitshow.

Almost everyone here has "issues" too, think you are going to fit in just fine.

    Cheers!

Oiled filter?, if so to much oil fouls MASS air flow sensor. Which will throw codes.

Put it back to stock, like others have said. Air intakes without a tune will do nothing except confirm your bias that you think they’re doing something.

#1: Take off the intake, it's obviously causing problems with your truck.
#2: Explain more about the cruise control problem, we can't help you with that if we don't know what caused it to turn off in the first place.

P.S. When you post stuff like this→
    this→
    and this→
it not only makes you look bad as a firefighter but it reflects poorly on the fire service in general. I'm going to ask that you please at least look at it through the eyes of the public we're supposed to serve before you post something like this. We're glad to offer help and advice, but please don't go making people like you and I look like we're all idiots/have no concern for other's safety when you ask for help. Not meant to start an argument, just something to consider. Thanks, and enjoy your truck!

Ok sounds good on just putting it back. The intake is a non-oiled version. As for maker, Japanese flea market, yet sure improved the punch on this thing. As for the maintenance just a standard tune up, oil, filters, plugs, wires, all topend stuff.
AS FOR MY FIRE FRIEND, REALLY?? Last i checked we're men doing a mans job, thats it. I'm not someone to use as an example on what and how to look in the public's eye. I'm extremely good at what i do and i cant wait for the next reason to get in the engine for a response. I do my job because i love it, like my truck! I drive it like i live my life and perform my job, like i stole it! We're bad examples as people and if your all about your perseved persona then your in it for the wrong reasons! I help people and love God, thats what i do offer what i have to give! Im still a guy that has faults, issues and is slightly sain and all the way crazy. Think about your job and the secret life in the fire house and tell me you guys dont talk shit, drink to much, womanise conversations and tell war stories!! If you say otherwise then eaither your not a fireman or your just not honost with yoursrlf. I'm sorry if you cant be honest with others on how you truly are, myself i know im an over zelous adrenaline freak that loves getting up every morning to do his job and I'm proud of my heathen and assholeish fellow firefighters!! Sure there are the over confident big on top and small on the bottom cocky get everyone hurt dudes out there, but here at least in the forest we weed them out rightaway!! Were not into the glory or the big red truck, drop us out of a plane, drive us down to the bottom the Grand Canyon just to walk 75lbs of hose back up to the top and cut a trail in the process kind of guys. You eaither love what you do and dont judge your fellow man or your fake and try to show off because you need to fill a preconcieved notions of what a firefighter is. I stay true to myself and everyone around me that i engage with here or on scene. You dint have to like me and you dont have to thank me, just stay out of my way if im code 3 and all will be smiles and rainbows! Im no hero so i refuse to pretend that i am, and i WILL NOT misrepresent myself or the dept in what we do. I'm just honest and dependable royal, sarcastic, gun shooting, truck driving, animal killing, life saving, forest extinguishing asshole. Also what other job do you know that has to pass out pictures to every person in overhead just to get around everytime you show up to a major incedent, that right yher should show you just how smart we are, nevermind we hurry the wrong way in a disasterous situation. In all honesty we probably should have are heads examined or just plain commited. No disrespect to you or anyother serviceman out there, but we aint the brightest and we sure as hell aint yhe nicest, but we real people, i know i havent seen to many other professionals that can say that with truth in thier hearts. So again if you took offense to my earlier post i extend my apologies to you and and any others who took offense or felt that being an honest idot was a bad representation of the almighty fire dept! BE SAFE AND STAY TRUE TO THE CODE! ACTUALLY BE THE LAST ONE OUT, NOT THE FIRST BELL OUT! No arguments here, but i will say my peace, just as you have. And no hard feelings, i love you for what you do and some day hope i can grow up and be just like you, but I'm 47 and bern a czptain for 5 yrs of it and im guessing I'll never grow up, so till then im gonna drive her like i stole her, break her, ride her hard and put her away wet, toll the day she quits or i end up in a 6ft permanent ditch of my own.

I would also recommend inspecting/cleaning the MAF sensor. If not from an oiled filter, larger more opened (especially cheap filter) will allow more dirty to enter your intake. It may be getting by the filter. The increase in flow won’t throw a code. The trucks computer will just increase the A/F ratio. Did you scan the code to see what it’s throwing? I’d start there first.
