I use Wheelers "Superbumps". They offer bumps that fit stock front location. Rears are available with a bracket that adapts to the top plate of the flip kits....Drill and tap 2 holes and bolt 'em on. Simple and much more effective than stock bumps.

Yeah I have superbumps up front. In the rear I have inverted daystars chopped to the proper height. I harnessed my internal @EatSleepTacos cheap ass and only spent $14 on my rear bumpstop solution and it is effective.

Every other vehicle I own, I do things "by the book" and try not to go cheap just to be cheap. This truck is on the "do it 1st class regardless of cost" cycle. Next one I'll probably duct tape a rubber ball to the top of the leaf packs....:anonymous:

I received this from Marie at Headstrong a few weeks ago, just FYI...

Much of spring selection comes down to how much lift you are looking at. ARB has recently changed their coils so we are reworking our lift height guide. This is what we have come up with so far. These numbers are based on customer feedback and should only be used as a guide and not gospel.

NOTE: The lift achieved from any kind of spring, whether it is a leaf spring or a coil spring, is a variable lift. Meaning that the amount of lift achieved can vary. Depending on the condition of your factory components (where applicable), how they respond to the added suspension, the overall weight of the vehicle and any add-ons added (bumpers, batteries, tool boxes, covers, light bars, skids, sliders, etc) and manufacturing tolerances of the spring themselves can all influence how much lift you can see from either spring. We provide the average after settled lift height that we have seen from clients running the suspension but with averages some people get more or less lift.

OME 884 coils 590 lbs spring rate 390 mm in length (approx. 1.75” of lift on a base stock weight 05-15 4dr 4wd v6 auto, approx. 1” of lift on a base stock weight 2016-current 4dr 4wd v6 auto)
OME 885 Coils 590 lbs spring rate 395 mm in length (approx. 2.25” of lift on a base stock weight 05-15 4dr 4wd v6 auto, approx. 1.5” of lift on a base stock weight 2016-current 4dr 4wd v6 auto)
OME 886 coils 660 lb spring rate 402 mm in length (not recommended to be run on the 5100's)
OME 887 coils 590 lb spring rate 400 mm in length (approx. 2.75” of lift on a base stock weight 05-15 4dr 4wd v6 auto, approx. 2” of lift on a base stock weight 2016-current 4dr 4wd v6 auto)

These numbers are based on the 5100's being set at the 0 setting. Yes the Bilsteins are adjustable by changing the notch setting up on the shock body. However by doing this with a lift coil, you compound lift. So instead of seeing around 0.85" (on the 2nd gen 5100's) or 0.65” (on the 3rd gen 5100's) of extra lift you may see an 1"+ more lift. Plus there are other issues at play here like potential coil bind issues. Also by adding additional preload you can affect the ride quality as well.

Interesting so if I keep my 5100s and add a winch I should probably look at 887 springs maybe.

Maybe, depending on weight. I've been reading endlessly about the 885 vs 887 setups, and I still don't know what to do. For me, the 887 setup is probably the way to go, but it basically forces UCA's ($$$$$). The upside for me is that I can significantly reduce the rake, add slightly larger tires/wheels, and get a slight bump to my bed capacity with the AAL's. That said, I've seen a lot of sideshots and specs, and sometimes the 887 rides pretty high without additional weight to hold it down. I guess the only way to know is research the best you can, and eventually pull the trigger on something and try it!

I'm already running 885 on 5100 shocks. I have a bullbar and sliders. I will eventually put a winch on bullbar and probably a skid plate. I will need stiffer springs up front. The question is what? If 886 aren't supposed to be run on 5100s then I either need different shocks with 886 or maybe 887 on my 5100s.

Finally got my 5100’s, 885 coils and Icon 3-leaf progressive leaf pack installed. Very pleased with this combo and thank you to everyone that posted in this thread, made my decision very easy and definitely worth it.

Thank you and the tires are 265/75/16 BFG KO’s. Also have 1.25” spidertrax spacers that help make it look a little more aggressive with the 1st gen tundra wheels.

Did you run any spacers on driver or passenger side with your 885’s? And what did this net you exactly in the front? Looks great!

Do you have a link to the bumps you used? Picking up a flip kit since they're on sale at wheelers right now.

Update - more wheeling with my 885/5100 setup! Still loving it. No regrets, no issues. Drivers side has a .75” and passenger has a .5” strut top spacer.

I added a small strut top spacer above both sides (NOT A LIFT SPACER) adding preload but a small strut top spacer because I wanted a hair more lift up front. Especially because I’m going to put some hammer hangers in the back adding about another .4” lift so I need the front to be a little higher. This was my height before, with just a .25” spacer on the driver side.
