I sold my Tacoma because I rarely used the bed. I bought a GX because we were expecting our first child. Fast forward two years and I’ve had the car seat in the GX a handful of times (it’s in my wife’s car 99% or the time) and I miss that truck bed that I thought I hardly ever used. Love the GX’s silky smooth V8 and plush interior though :proposetoast: - and the looks I get with sliders and 275s on a Lexus.

I'd wait to see what shows up at the dealership. You probably don't need to put down a deposit.

Honestly, you sound like a perfect candidate for a ridgeline

The ridgeline is honestly a great vehicle. It is probably fine for about 90 percent of people who buy tacomas.

Really just lacking the offroad capability.

I’m not bashing. I think the ridgeline would be suitable for a lot of people here. Myself included. I know I would certainly like the smoother ride and better gas mileage and more comfortable. However it’s just not cosmetically that appealing to me. I also don’t like that low center console. The whole interior is more like a suv or crossover than it is of that of a pickup. My opinion of course.

Maaaaan, all y’all shitting on MB but you can pick up an E55 AMG for pretty cheap. That’s just under 500hp and just over 500 ftlbs of torque in an incredibly stout powertrain that loves mods. You can embarrass 99% of the cars on the road for not that much cash.

Hopefully you know how to work on your own cars if you go this route though lololol

Just to expand on the different customer....I would say there are even two of those. One being the person that feels the need to be seen in one. Once folks get over how they are perceived it is easier to make smart choices. Several years ago I had ownership in a car audio business. Of all the cars we took apart a mercedes SUV was by far the cheapest put together door panels I had ever seen. Big blobs of hot glue holding stuff together. I'm not trying to pick on mercedes as they have some nice cars but it was really surprising to see what was holding it together. Made me laugh to think the driver really got a thrill rolling around in her benz.

Haha. I use the 4x4 on my vehicles far too much to ever drive a minivan with a bed

Good point, heck, look at IG or half the decked out trucks here that are simply for show/perception.

Give him a break. We all make mistakes, at least he is correcting his mistake by getting out of that Mercedes and into a Tacoma where he belongs:thumbsup:

But then you get stuck with the options the dealer selected and end up paying close to $50k.

I don't think there are many options to choose from. Auto or Manual? Everything else seems to be standard equipment. Other than the bolt on Toyota accessories.

My work car is a Ford Fusion and have had several pick ups over the years. I know what I am in for, LOL.
