Swapped out a 01 3rd gen 4runner steering wheel in my 02 tacoma. Everything was a direct fit. Horn and cruise control both work as it should.

Biggest difference is between the two is on the tacoma, ground wire connection is on the airbag. On the 4runner that connection is on the steering wheel itself. This is ground for the horn. So on the tacoma horn flaps (whatever they are called) that bend are on the air bag where on the 4runner it’s in the steering wheel.

Changed out the front diff oil last Saturday. Here is update. Looks about the same as the rear. The reason oil looks like that is because I had a little bit of water in the drain pan. Also the new oil got mixed in a little when I over poured into the diff.
I did also get a new arb compressor that I wired up. Don’t have any install pictures right now but will get some later.

Swapped out speed sensor gears today. Still need to take it on the free way to see how accurate the seep is now. Used to be 5 miles off at 60mph. Install was easy only took about 10 min. Original had 30 tooth and new one is 33.

    Edit: at 60mph I’m off by 2mph.
Much better then what it used to be.

Haven’t updated in a while. Got another thing off my list a week or so back. After replacing the radiator cap it turned out there was another leak. Had to do a warranty exchange for a new radiator. They sent me a new one and I had to pay for both shipping of the new and old radiators. The old one had to go back to them to verify the leak. Cost me about $60 all together. Here are some pictures from the swap. So far new radiator is holding up well.

Edit: so far Ive noticed the new radiator is running cooler then before. I think this is due to separating the transmission cooler from the radiator.
Old temp of engine was 210-215f and now its 190-195f
also the transmission temp dropped down as well.

Interesting... @Blackdawg just had his rad leak and screw up his day...

I'd love some extra cooling, but the recent issues make me worry that either a bad batch went out or quality is going down and it's cheaper and safer to just replace the OEM plastic rad every X years.

Also wired up the front locker with arb compressor. I have yet to test it out in the trails but here’s a pick a small climb it did with rear and front locked. No tire spin I think that’s a good sign.

We both had the first gen style radiator. I'm hoping that the newer style they now have wont have the same issues.

Got a new windshield installed today. Old one had a crack and a few chips. Decided it was a good time to have a new one installed.
Next mod will be the eBay snorkel.

Finished installing the snorkel on the truck last night. Most of it was fairly easy, especially breaking most of the clips that hold the fender flare and fender liner. Ordered some to replace the broken ones. Another thing to mention the rubber tube did not want to fit over the plastic on either end so I used some lube and heated up the rubber tube to fit over an old coffee cup and let it sit for a day then after it was much easier to install. Here are some pictures.

Nice, Looks good. I originally wanted the gun metal grey but they never have them in stock. Ended up going with the bronze.
    What lift are you running?

Yeah, I waited a couple of months for the black ones in that spec to restock. Bronze is my 2nd favorite.

It's on Bilstein 5100s w/ stock coils & top setting and an AAL in the rear. I have front 1/4" trim packer/spacers and OME Dakars with 1/2" HD shackles ready to go on as soon as it warms up a little here. Should be pretty close to 2.75-3.0" all said and done. I live in an apartment so I can't do any crazy tear-downs.

Youll probably need to do some trimming up front to fit the tires. Mine with a 2.5'' lift and 1'' BL I was still rubbing at 85-90% lock out.
Did you have to do the rear axle relocation plate with the OME leaf's?

Thanks for the heads up. I was hoping the offset would help but I expected some massaging. Do you recommend the axle relocation plate?
