I would start at the price you got your current truck at to be honest.

When it comes to looking at pictures, look at how close the rear wheel is to the cab. On the short bed, the trim for the wheel well comes right up next to the cab, on the long bed, there is a foot of sheet metal between the trim and the cab. Once you train your eye you can see it really quickly.

To get mine I just went to the dealer and said that's what I wanted.

Thanks for the info. The dealer I bought my SR5 from happens to have a cement TRD offroad with tech, premium and no other options in transit to the dealership, MSRP $41,255. Coincidentally an equally equipped Sport is just $30 more. I think I'd prefer a Sport.
Thinking of going in $3K below MSRP?

    Offroad>Sport! (imho)

No fake hood scoop and actual, physical upgrades like a locker!

Also, the Tow Package is a really good option from the factory. It's more than just the hitch, it's the trans cooler too.

This^ is very interesting. While it's not Norcal I just spent a week in LA & Malibu and I kid you not I saw more DCLB's then SB's by far...atleast a 2:1 ratio if not higher. Around here in Boulder, CO I see very few DCLB's.

A quick update: I'm still casually looking for a DCLB, it's been a busy few weeks and I've been out of town a few times as well. I'm still leaning towards a Cement OR or Sport with Tech and Premium which is what I really want vs. being a cheapskate(which I often am) and settling for an SR5. My local dealer is still getting one in, not sure on an ETA. I just lowballed them on it for fun this morning so we'll see what they say; I countered their initial offer to me by $2K lower purchase price on the new truck and $1.5K more for my trade.

Don't know if mentioned before, but found mine on Cargurus. You break it down to exactly how you want it.

I recently bought a 2018 TRD OR DCLB in SoCal for $2500 off MSRP. Interestingly that was their initial internet quote when I went through TruCar.com. It took them several weeks to find the one I wanted and had several local dealers fighting over it. One dealer wouldn't move from the MSRP the other gave me 2500 off MSRP for the same truck. Just depends on where you go.

+1 for cargurus. It seemed like the only site I found that allowed you to filter for long beds. I was able to get a few hundred below invoice but I had the $750 off for student discount. I also based invoice calculations on one of the other threads here on TW.

Bought it! They offered me a fair trade amount($2K above any other dealer!) and took $4054 off MSRP. Loving the overall "feel" of driving it. Interior and seats look and feel like a different truck; seems quieter and more comfortable to drive. The length/wheelbase make it feel more like a truck(in a good way) and seems to ride MUCH better. My wife loves this truck and was sincerely underwhelmed with the SR5 I traded in. I've owned it 4 days and have literally used/needed the long bed 2 different days and about 10 trips to various places. Truly best of both worlds in my opinion; room in the back seats to throw stuff as well as fit my daughters various car seats now and as she grows.

Search google for the model code that you want. I did that to find my Inferno 2017 TRDOR DCLB. I had a 2016 I got a dealer in Kansas City to order for me. Same color and everything and then it got totaled. Google search for the model code was the only way I could find and exact replacement. Only found 2.

A few quick pics the day I test drove it. I'm loving it so far. I took advantage of the long bed yet again yesterday and hauled a bunch of landscaping rocks.

Ya definitely less long beds than short. Having the trd sport DCLB in gunmetal... I’ve seen 3 on the road so far after 1 year. Of course there’s gonna be that wise guy that says “that’s all I see around here”. He’s full of crap. For some
Reason, obviously a sales reason more ppl prefer short bed than long. In contruction it’s a no brainer. I would be curious if this site had a data entry poll to collect all the members info to give out some true numbers

I’d guess 3 to 1 on short bed vs long bed on here.
