Another option is to unscrew a half dozen floorboards out from the siding and widen your spacing to close the gap at the house.

Yeah I considered that option. I think I'd be annoyed by the in equal gaps. The hidden fastener system for these boards make the gaps perfect. It makes small differences fairly noticable.

No, I understand. It's a pick-your-poison solution and only cost is your time.

Again, that 1" gap is my worst case scenario for the reason you're dealing with. A 1" ripper resolves the gap, but is so narrow it becomes perfect sight line to highlight any waviness to the siding and the floorboards. Unless you go out a dozen floorboards and widen the spacing, you'll notice the gap variation.

$100 for a 8" width (assuming Trek makes one) is the cleanest solution, although the most expensive.

    Again, pick your poison.

Bought it before the holidays. However appliance repairman said it looked like it was dropped. That's what you get from Sears Outlet I guess. Great machine otherwise!

I get to replace my dishwasher since it decided it didn't want to drain anymore, due to the filter being a solid unit and years of buildup inside. Can't find a replacement anywhere and the Home Warranty wants me to pay someone to come look at it. Hard Pass. What good's a warranty if I have to pay someone anyway? Gonna grab this guy on sale: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Frigidaire...n-24-Inch-Actual-24-in-ENERGY-STAR/1000565239. Throw it on the lowes card and call it a day.

Id recommend buying the extended warranty from Lowes or Home Depot wherever you buy it. I used to have an old Maytag and it worked great. I dont know if its the newer machines or just my new Frigidaire but it doesn't dry very well unless you use a drying agent.

I have this one. Its quiet and seems to work well except I am not impressed with the drying:

That’s why we went through Costco. They have a separate customer service line if the warranty company won’t own up.

This is why I’m hanging onto my old loud ass dishwasher as long as possible. I’m terrified to drop $700 on a high quality new one to have it break on me or do a shitty job washing.
Mine is old but it works!

The new ones just aren’t made the same.

We’ve got a Bosch in our place and it’s super quiet, and actually gets the dishes clean. I’ve heard from a bunch of people that if you want clean dishes Bosch is the way to go.

Figured someone in here might find this helpful. I was at Lowe’s yesterday buying some lumber and OSB about $300 worth and the cashier who has been there for as long as I can remember told me a good trick if you also shop at Safeway/Vons. He said if you buy Lowe’s gift cards(or any gift card for that matter) at Safeway you get double the gas rewards points. I figured I’d give it a shot as I normally spend close to $500 a month at Lowe’s on building materials. We’ll sure enough went to fill up the truck and I had $1.00 off a gallon in gas rewards just from the Lowe’s gift cards I had purchased.

Does building a house count as home improvement? This is my project for the next six months, watching the contractor build my house.
