Hey guys, I got to tell you I love coming on here and seeing all your trucks.
I have a 2010 Tacoma TRD Sport! I totally love my truck. Whats depressing to me is that I am one of those guys with zero mechanical skills. Really. I can barely put in my own headlight bulbs. When it come to stuff like that I have zero talent. I recently bought all the parts to put my light bar in under the front bumper. It took a while but I finally found a place to do the install. Came out great! My truck has 177 thousand on it and I am looking to freshen it up a bit. I was thinking about getting those Katzskins seats. One thing that I would really love to do is my front grill. I really love the grills that say Toyota across it. I dont have alot of money to spend and I totally dont have the abilities to do any work myself. Any suggestions would be great. Looked at a couple grill inserts that snap over the current grill but didnt like the one that I found. Any help would be great! Thanks

I'd ditch the wheels for something a little more updated looking.

I have zero mechanical skills too. :anonymous: But I stumble along or have my local Tacoma World mechanic to work on my Taco. :benchpress:

Buy you a pro grille, and put it on. I feel like if you can install a light bar, you can definitely swap out the grilles. I did mine. Took about 30-45 min. I went slow so I didn’t break any of the tabs

What LED light bar did you get? I also have a 2010 and was thinking about an LED light bar, although stupid Maryland makes me put a license place in the middle of the bumper.

When I was 16, I didn't know jack about vehicles or how to fix them. But since I was broke, I had to do it. I tore my car apart and just paid attention to how it came apart. I started with oil changes and brake jobs but I screwed up a ton. I eventually figured it out and became more confident in my abilities. A few years later I was doing motor swaps, small engine rebuilds and helping car buddies with there fast cars. If you mess it up, It can be fixed. So don't be afraid to tear it apart!

If the lightbar went in with no problems you'd be fine with installing a new grill as well. Do you have any friends who are more mechanically inclined that would work with you if you're worried? Provide them a few beers for their time?

    Nice truck!

Best piece of advice I can recommend is to get with your regional forum -
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/florida.45/

Go to some meet ups, talk to people, and ask for help. I believe you'll find members are more than willing to teach you if you're willing to learn (and work on pizza and beer)

Owning a 2nd gen Tacoma and depression don’t occur together. If you really want to be depressed, own a 3rd gen. :crapstorm:

I can no longer comment in the 3rd gen subthread because I said stuff like that in the 3rd gen thread too much. :anonymous:

Very clean for 177K. You can do it, and if you can't, TW will help you. There should be videos online and just follow the instructions. It's seriously a "nothing to it but to do it" kind of thing. You won't create an immobile vehicle if you mess up and you can always call up TW if you get stuck.

Unless you plan on lowering the truck; adding hydraulics, mudflaps with naked women, and dingo balls hanging from the inside of the windshield, I agree you need new wheels...

I put this grille on in about 10 minutes, and I'm a total klutz! I had the brush guard and lights installed professionally, though.
