new 2019 TRD OR. slight buzz every other brake press (even in park so not rotors). I've read many posts that the slight buzz in break pedal is normal because of the electric break booster (even happens on 4runners). has anyone gone through dealership to replace master cylinder? Does this fix buzz? Is there another fix? I know some say its normal but it is VERY annoying if you pay attention to it. Brake. Bzzz'd. Brake. Brake. Bzzz'd..... repeat forever!

I can tell you this much as I currently owned a Lexus 2003 GX470 (my wife's truck) and that's exactly the problem that we are having. Is just going to get worse. Thats the ABS assembly accumulator, its quite expensive on the Lexus. You should have the dealer diagnosed it and get it fixed under warranty.

That was one of the first things I noticed about my truck. However, 15k plus miles later I either don’t notice it or it has lessened greatly. I read the same forums and honestly forgot about it. Hope you get yours sorted to your liking though.

Messaged you back coke. For anyone on this thread, issue persists but I’ve become used to it. Best of luck.

I know you said it's a slight buzz, but how loud are we talking here? In any case, I'm with you. Can't handle even the tiniest constant noise.

Okay, I just bought a used 2019 TRD OR at 5k miles and it does this. Its less of a noise and more like I'm stepping on a vibrating cell phone. Its super annoying and I just want to drive something that doesn't make me nervous to press on the pedal. Its a lot of electronic feeling feedback. Anyone found solutions?

The buzz is normal, that’s the accumulator pump doing it’s thing, now if it does it when you’re not touching the pedal all the time, you have a leak in the accumulator assembly

Isn't that the brake feedback circuit to indicate the system is working and hasn't had a break?

The dealer just replaced the brake actuator and brake switch on my truck due to a leak and now my brake pedal is doing the vibrating thingy, which wasn't doing before. I felt it as soon as I left the service station, but it was closing time so I decided to call them tomorrow.
I sure hope this is how is suppose to be. But if it is normal, then my brake pedal has been broken for years, because it wasn't doing this before they changed the actuator and brake switch.

I first noticed this on my 2019 OR MT in October after driving in below freezing temps, but the issue went away until two weeks ago when I was again driving in below freezing temps. Every second press of the brake pedal, the pedal would vibrate and I could hear an audible buzz sound. I took it to the dealer and said I wanted a technician to come out and look/listen/feel instead of just making an appointment. After some prodding, I succeeded in getting the lead tech and service manager out to take a look. At first the tech said it was normal, but then I asked if it's normal to happen after every second press of the brake pedal. After standing there for a couple minutes while I continued to press the pedal so it would keep making the buzz sound, they agreed it was an issue and said since it's a brake issue, they didn't want me to drive away. So, I'm on day 5 of driving the loaner Prius and just found out the part is on back order until Thursday.

Normal. Every time you press the brake you deplete some stored charge in the accumulator. It's not much volume it stores so the hydroboost pump runs to recharge the accumulator after a couple presses. I can hear and know when the pump's running when I pay attention but don't notice it normally. You guys drive in real shoes?

Hey Guys, after searching countless sites about master cylinders, I finally found this thread. And it sounds exactly like the issue I am dealing with in my 12'. I thought it was so many other things until I had a friend stand next to my engine while the hood was open and I had my foot on the break while in gear. He said the slight buzz is coming from the master cylinder, or at least something under the brake fluid resovoir.
I'm not sure whether to worry about it and get something fixed, or as some say, it's normal. Has this been going on for 10 years, and I didnt notice until now? Or is it something that starts at certain mileage. I just hit 100k.
Any help would be appreciated. I'll attach a video of what mine sounds like. Is this what you guys hear!?!

Same exact experience here! 2020 DCSB OR MT. I live in San Diego and hadn't had the issue for 24k miles. Drove up to southern utah at about 10k feet elevation and 20 deg nights this president’s day weekend and started noticing the buzz. Consistently every other pedal press. Any improvement after you had it serviced by the dealer? What did they change?

Folks, this is just a characteristic of the electronic brake booster in the OR trim. Nothing is wrong. No service will change the "buzz". Get used to it, or trade it in for a Sport!

Agreed! I have been totally anal about every little noise or feeling since I had my Taco, and for some reason I never noticed the vibration, or maybe just more pronounced the older she gets. But I brought her into the dealer for routine service, and took time to go for a test drive and actually showed the senior Tacoma mechanic the exact buzzing / vibration. He laughed and said exactly what Tacomamba said. Its the electronic booster, building brake pressure everytime we release the brake, so it will vibrate every other breaking action. Totally normal, and nothing to worry about.
I was literally moments away from replacing my entire brake cylinder. I'm glad I researched TW and spoke to a mechanic first.
