    Toyota didn't hit the deer.
When were the correct parts actually placed on order?
Do you have parts from different trim levels on your truck?
Is your insurance replacing with OEM or aftermarket parts?
Is your bodyshop (who is ultimately ordering the parts) willing to go outside his normal sources to get parts?

Your guy is in the business to make money and he is feeding you a line I think. Pretty sure you can get those parts you need tomorrow, if you are willing to pay and your shop makes less margin.
    Good luck.

I have been in your shoes twice last year....I heavily feel the pain.....like your event, both times the deer came out of the dark and darted directly in front of the lights...no warning.

Well, my truck is no longer a virgin. Deer 0, Tacoma 1. I actually can't believe this didn't do more damage. Tuesday night on the way home from work:

Pretty much just took out the plastic fascia and a lot of clips.

I'm headed down to my friend's body shop this afternoon to get an estimate. I'm also thinking now is the time to put my order in for an SSO Slimline.

Looks like you could use some Drifters' Stitching for the time being! Taco would look kinda mean! You could call it Scarface lol

Hope you fair better than I did. The deer I hit did close to $7000 damage. Concealed damage really added up quick. I hit a large doe. That damn thing rolled 3 times on the road and came up on its feet and bolted off. I was lucky I was only a half mile from home when it happened because it shoved my front bumper cover and air dam into my tires. The doe had some serious road rash but I was really disappointed in how much damage my Tacoma had.

As you can see, my deer took a low position and went right under the truck. She was flopping on the road when I got out to look. Fortunately a state patrolman was a few minutes behind me on the road and finished her off. He said I could take the deer for meat. Yeah, no thanks. It was a bit too tenderized for my tastes.

    I'm guessing $2000 + in bodywork but we'll see.

The deer I hit had just jumped over a guard rail. I hit it before it touched the ground. I was going about 40 MPH. The fender was pushed back to the passenger door. The inner fender was bent and the air condenser was impaled by part of the grill. The passenger door had to be repainted as well from the contact with the fender. The head light was not damaged on the outside but all the mounts were broken. What concerned me most about the damage was that there is no bumper other than what is directly under the grill. There is nothing but plastic between the bumper cover and front tires on the outer corners. I cant believe that this is except-able when these trucks were being designed. The damage was about $7000. What would it have been if the bumper extended out to the ends? You can see in the picture the bumper held up to the impact.taco wreak 050.jpg
