Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I get it, i just prefer "normal" mode and more gas pedal...kinda like racing in the desert. Got to be honest...my truck has never been so fun. Had it on 3 wheels a couple days ago. Having a full suspension upgrade it is...pretty exciting

Using ECT while towing it behaves similar to overdrive, just allows more rpms to be built up and maintain speed with a load, combined with the tune its awesome.

 

ECT + Performance tune...v6 Dodge Challengers beware,...especially uphill

 

Yah the performance tune tip-in is a tad too much for me. Halfway between base and performance would be cherry IMO. All the tunes are really good though. Everyone should be thankful Mat has done what he has done

 

I'm waiting for boost and we have lifted Tacoma's running around smoking Corvettes ect

 

lol, the whole concept of 0-60, drag-racing, etc. in a Tacoma makes me laugh. We are supposed to be enjoying nature with our trucks, not the street.

They weren't designed for that, The Supra was....but i digress

Doing some gear research and whatnot.

Did you extend the Atkinson cycle to work at higher RPM's as well to increase mileage or something like that? I couldn't find it in the blogs ect but I thought there was a conversation about that at one point?

That's a good thing. He makes the only tune that makes these trucks worthwhile.

Love it when some guy is like "Nice truck, it's similar to mine." and I'm like, "Not quite...mine's been infected by the OVTune virus". Puzzling look comes across his face and then I have an opportunity to explain why his truck is less superior LOL

 

Anybody tuned 87 1.05 performance? notice any difference from 87 1.04.

 

uhhhh yah, 1.05 87 performance is a COMPLETELY different tune than 1.04 lol.

You would notice just driving 10 feet

 

I find the thought of some random guy thinking about his life decisions when a Tacoma out runs him on a drag strip quite entertaining

 

Lol I read this and thought “well fuck” thinking it was for the adapter kit.

 

How many guys reading this are near Portland Or. Need some fellers to go explore a certain patch of land...er mountain and "test" this tune

I'm 50 miles South. Caught a cold yesterday and feel like crap. I'd come play but not this weekend. Gonna sit on the couch drowning myself in medicine waiting for 1.05 Performance to drop. Next time.
