1st (Annual?) NE ice fishing Bonanza!

I have people coming to my house this weekend, I may have to make this a quick, half day fishin' mission.

 

This still happening? What time you guys thinking? I have a prior engagement that will take me away at probably noon or so, but I can be there fairly early.

 

Was just going to ask the same thing. Roughly a 2 hour drive for me. I could be there whenever Sat morning

 

Haha up to you guys. I think it's just you two. If another weekend works out better for either of you let me know. I fish every weekend

 

Unless you want to play hookie from work tomorrow and come to the super secret remote spot for potential monster browns we've never caught at said spot .


Spoiler alert, it's a 40 minute hike up a small mtn by foot to get there

 

Like I said, dont have shit going on Sat so Im down to chill on the ice if you guys are. Probably not going to get a license tho as I dont have any fishing gear

I am in but I have the big, final exam in two weeks for school so these two weekends are a hard pass. I don't care if I have to miss it but if you go again later in the season, I'm down. Also willing to hike an unreasonable distance for a chance at fish.

I think I've decided to go north this weekend. Riding the sled around here is probably done unless we get more snow and I need to strike when the iron is hot. New sled has got me itching.

Haha alright. Well all this works out anyways. The hole this morning was a blast. And by blast I mean I am terribly out of shape and was hell. Ended up being about a foot of snow at the shore on the ice. Dropped to 5" in the open. Pretty good day. No browns . But I hit triple pickerell in less than 2 minutes on my only 3 traps at the time. The small mouths also came out to play



But the bad news is I managed to grenade my knee on the hike. I'll be taking a bag of ice to it tonight and supplementing with beer therapy. Hopefully this will mend quick. With that being said I'm still fishing every weekend until ice out. So let me know if anyone wants to get together.

Not bad! And I mean, Im still free tomorrow.. You wanna find a lake in that area instead..? Obviously it will depend on how well the beer therapy works on the knee
