Dykem comes in many colors, last employer we needed a different color for each of our substations, I think I put an order in for 25 tubes of 5 different colors

Hey Harrison, do you have a link somewhere for this mod? I’m not sure I’d ever do it, but I am kinda curious. Thanks.

Weve talked about it a little in my build. Heres a link I've been keeping from pirate about doing it since it has all the years and sizes. Most in that thread are older toyotas but several guys have done it on tacomas with good results. Just build a subframe with some straps. Lengthen the hoses and I think you flip the sender 180 degrees and the fuel guage works. Pretty sure @Snowy has done it and can elaborate.

Yeah, sorry about that. I made a token effort to search TW, but it was unhelpful.

That sounds like a cool option though if my tank takes a beating.

Are you still thinking about selling your rig?

Here’s my post with the plumbing. Malburg is right with bending the float arm 180* to make the gauge work. Awesome mod, many of the guys in the group I wheel with have swapped to them too

No big deal hahah. I tried finding it as well and it took me a minute and there isnt much of that info or real fab work on here. Wasnt much info there to start with. I need to do it soon as the fuel guage only reads to 3/4 cause its smashed so bad.

I dont "want" or need to sell it but getting the itch to build another one or something else. Been busy with a new job and it just sits a lot right now and kind of want to start fresh with another because theres a lot of things I would do differently just for comfort things. Price is high though so I dont think itllsell. I have a number I'll settle with but most still wont pay it.

So I’m fighting some nasty taco lean and it’s pissing me off because I can’t seem to find the cause. Up front on the driver side, I’m running an extra two threads on the Kings and I’m still a half inch low at the frame when I measure at the cab mount. Out back, you can see the sag as well, with the bottom of the bumper showing daylight on the passenger side when you line it up with the axle on the driver side.

I’ve been thinking that I fucked something up on that side when I bent the driver side axle shaft, and when I look at the shackles from the side, they’re definitely at slightly different angles. Strangely enough, it looks like the passenger side shackle lower bushing is further back than the driver side, which I thought would be just the opposite if I had somehow clapped out the driver leaf pack.

Long story short, I want to get my alignment done, but it’s gonna fight the tech not being level I would think. I really don’t want to crank up the driver side coilover or drop the passenger side anymore, nor do I want to add a shim under the driver side leaf pack either...

Everything was dead level when I originally installed the Kings and the Expos, so it’s looking to me like I definitely jacked some shit up. I was way too heavy in Moab when I bent the axle shaft, so that probably contributed.

    Any thoughts, fellas?

    Apologies for the shitty pictures.

It is not uncommon to have up to a half inch difference in coil position to get level ride height. My 4runner is over 1/4"

    Thanks for chiming in, Brian!

You’re talking a half inch difference of exposed threads above the collar on the coilovers, right?

    ETA “difference”.

Yep, I'd shoot for just over a quarter and drive it down. Alignment, if far enough off can change ride height.

Make sure you are rolling it back and forth between checks, straight off the jack stands doesn't work unless you have slide plates

Are your leaf packs side-specific? Could try swapping them to see how that affects it.

You’re running 650 lb coils right?

As far as I know the Expos are NOT side specific, but swapping them did cross my mind. I’d most likely wait until I do my rear shocks because I’ll need to break down the packs anyway and I’d want to inspect them to see if the current driver side has been flattened.

What I’m having trouble with is the shackle angles. I have no idea how it could be a clapped out driver side pack but yet the shackle on that side is more vertical. But leaf spring geometry still kinda blows my mind, so there is that.

Shit, maybe they are... I know the Dakars are, but I swear I never found any markings or anything denoting that. Regardless, if they’re different, it’ll be obvious after pulling and comparing both packs and I’ll probably just swap them like Dan said and go from there.

I don’t know what else could be going on.
