Have vibration at a steady 40-45mph. Normally you can gas right through it and you would notice. But if you’re in the right frequency long enough or if it’s underload it feels like a rumble strip vibration.

First thought it was a drive line issue or motor/trans mount. But the mounts look good and the u-joint TSB was done last March.

So took it in and the peeps at the dealership were actually pretty nice about looking at since they had just done the service. The tech drove my truck and heard something more from the rear but didn’t quite hit the sweet vibration spot. So I drove and got it to rumble.

Once he was done looking, he brought me back into shop to show what he thinks is going on. So for the rumble, he feels it’s more a torque converter annoyance, nothing terrible, but maybe a flush/fill will smooth that out.

But for the rear he said he could a slight humming/vibration coming from the rear. He spun the rear wheels and pointed out the light humming/noise. Said it’s not bad yet, but my rear wheel bearings are starting to wear out. He wasn’t sure if it was both or just one. Told me to dump the oil in rear pumpkin and look for metal shavings to make sure that wasn’t the issue. If that was ok, then possibly the bearings.

I didn’t pay for anything, it’s why I got an general diagnostic overview about what could be the issue. But I appreciate their time in just looking.

How hard is the job for replacing either the bearing or full hub on the rears?

    Cheer!

Sounds like you got a free diagnosis to me. I bet if you payed them money they could tell you what it is for sure. And doing the rear bearings is a giant pain in the balls. Got about 5k worth of tools?

Yea, I figure they wanted to make sure nothing was done wrong on their part...somewhat a freebie.
