For anyone who would like to know, I used my spc spring compressors while the shocks were on the truck and it made it way easy. No struggles or worrying about damaging the theads. These spc compressors are awesome, money well spent.

    Thanks man, appreciate it.

They've been great so far. This is my first coilover truck setup so I don't really have much to compare it to, though.

I installed these a couple of days ago. Instead of drilling into the frame, I welded and drilled some holes from some 1/4” stock to make a bracket using some of the existing holes. Painted with some OEM paint and I’d say it looks pretty good! :)

Out of curiosity, what are the extended and collapsed lengths of the rear shock offerings from ADS? Piggyback and/or bypass...

Is anyone else having something similar happen to their trucks? My driver side of my truck is about a half in to an inch lower than my passenger side and it’s really bugging me. This happened after my install with had Dakars and my ADS. My front driver side is a little shorter than my front passenger but that’s a known issue with Tacoma’s and will
Be fixed once I readjust my coil overs after i install my front bumper but that won’t change the rear will it? Here are a couple pics from my measurements. I highly doubt it is the shocks but it could possibly be the leaf pack causing this, that is the only thing i can think of at the moment.

That’s the taco lean my friend. Gas tank, battery on the same side. Most people set their coil overs a 1/4” higher on the drivers side to accommodate. That’s what I did

I always assumed taco lean was more associated with the front vs the entire driver side. I will be adjusting them here soon to have a 1/4" more on the driver side once i get around to installing my bumper, since i have to raise both sides up for the extra weight.

I may be off a tad but I’m pretty sure the rear extended clicker resi cycle length is 9.89”
Your preload should be about 1/8-1/4" more on the driver side

Put 100 lbs of sand on the passenger side of the bed when you fill up with gas. Take it out as you burn through the gas... rinse and repeat.

19" collapsed? Seems freaking huge to me considering OEM is a hair under 14... gotta be the wrong info...

I'm more talking about collapsed length just because I wanna run these at stock height. A lot of shocks assume a lift and you get collapsed lengths that would crash off full compression before engaging the chassis bump stops.

Yeah, they don't show the extended, and collapsed lengths for their 'Bolt in series' which would be stock replacement. Comparable data you could determine for your length of shock travel from the link given, select the right shock length. If using bolt-in, then they match stock dimensions, would be presumed. Ask a vendor such as Headstrong for specific info, and I believe there are extended length bolt-in models available, though not advertised on ADS site.

16” from mounting surface to center eye with 10” of travel. The tacoma shocks have a welded end to shorten OAL.

Dakar leafs come with + or - on them. If the leafs are different then put the + one on the driver side.
