Kazoo Noise - DIY fix with tubing or buying OEM improved seals?

    This thread is about the kazoo/reed noise that comes from the double cab doors due to the faulty seal design.

    This is NOT about a windshield noise, or a rear cab flap noise, or any other noise.



    For those who did the DIY fix with irrigation line - Did your fix work 100%? If so what kind of line/tubing did you use?

    For those who got the redesigned weather seals - Did the fix work 100%?


    I am currently trying the irrigation line method, but today is REALLY windy and I still heard the noise while driving into a head wind. Not sure if I should get a thicker line, run the line much longer around the door profile, or just pay up for the improved part.

    6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
    The dealer replaced mine for free about a year ago. So far so good

    I did the irrigation line method. It works 99 percent of the time. The full on kazoo noise never comes back but sometimes I get a low grumble or whistle when on the highway and there are severe crosswinds... But I feel like most vehicles are suceptible to this.

    I wasn't aware there was an updated seal.
