Purchased my first truck in 1985 when I was 15 with my own money from my own job working on a nearby horse farm. Rode my motorcycle over after school every day and every Saturday. I know some kids haven't even had a sleepover nowadays at 15 but it was a little different back then. Two tone green and white 1969 Chevy pickup. All my buddies had 4 wheel drives so I traded my Pops for a 1977 Dodge power Wagon. I graduated high school in 1987 but only had to go half the school year so as soon as I got my first public job my first purchase was a brand new 1987 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 extra cab from Marietta Toyota. First extra cab they had ever sold. Man I loved that truck. I was about the only one. Everyone made fun of my funny looking "rice burner". I however embraced their sarcasm and made a custom aluminum skid plate and stenciled then drilled out a plate between the bumper and skid plate that read "Rice Rocket". I've got to dig through the attic and see if I can find some old pictures of it. Between me and my wife, who is still active duty, we have moved 12 times so some things get tucked away and are hard to find. On my 3rd Tacoma at present. I had another new one around 94 that was a lease. My one and only lease vehicle. Also had a 4x4 96 4 Runner. My last vehicle was a 2000 Tundra. My wife and my 15y/o daughter both image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg have Toyota Prius. So I guess you could say we're a Toyota family. Presently have a 2011 Tacoma that is a real gem. Wasn't even looking for a truck but it came along and I couldn't pass it up. Already pretty well tricked out. Was owned by a retired serviceman that unfortunately had cancer and passed away. Anyhow, nice to have a wealth of knowledge here that I can dig through. Have a few things I plan to do with it and look forward to using this site.

Welcome Steve. Thank you and your wife for your service.
I had an 88 extra cab for my first Toyota. Loved it.
