Just got this done yesterday, works just like it was supposed to. I have a 2012 for any of those who were asking if this mod would work for them. Works exactly the same. Only problem for me was i couldnt unscrew the bolt where you were supposed to connect the ground. Had to improvise and connect the ground to one of the metal clips that holds the kick pannel. works perfect now. I flip a switch which I hid to the bottom left of the wheel where a trailer brake accessory goes, the ABS light and the 4-LO light come on on the dash. No more grinding feeling from the brake, and i can actually have fun in the snow now. If anyone has questions im here to help.

Did this mod a week or so ago. Works great, just as advertised. Mounted my switch in the same spot as OP. Feels good to be able to drift a corner or do doughnuts again

So there's probably a good answer to this. But how is this mod different from pressing and holding the VSC button, which turns off Auto LSD and TRAC/VSC off?

I am a new owner of a 2015 prerunner TRD offroad with a locker for reference.

    from the OP:
"The mod works by tricking the 4WD ECU into thinking that the rear diff is locked when in fact it is not. The 4WD ECU sends this information to the Skid Control ECU (VSC Computer) which controls the brakes. Therefore it is the VSC Computer which turns off the VSC / and ABS system."

In addition, the "press and hold" method only works below 30 mph. Above 30 mph, VSC will still engage the ABS, and send your truck skidding down the freeway into oncoming traffic, least that's what mine did until I wired in my kill switch. The kill switch works through the entire speed range, and now I can drive on the freeway, take off-ramps, ect, without feeling like I'm going to die.

Above 30 it reactivates, ey. Well that sounds like a fine mod then!

So I'm going to attempt this mod today, my question is how do I determine for sure whether I have an off-road or not?

Do you have a factory “rear differential lock” button? If so then it is an off-road.

So I did this just like the first page said I cut the green wire light green. Next to the yellow wire from the white clip. I have now installed a switch and no matter what I do I cannot make my ABS light come on. Any suggestions or anybody else have this issue?
