So reading the dual version on ARB it states it will run most air tools with an additional tank. So getting the dual also means your need an additional tank as well.

Designed for inflating Tires and air locker activation when used in conjunction with optional accessories
Suitable for many air tools when used in conjunction with a 4L air tank (optional with on-board models)
    100% duty cycle
Sealed for moisture and dust resistance
Hard anodized cylinder bores for reduced friction

People run the dual without the tank.

If you are using it to fill up tires, no need for a tank

Why do you need air tools? What are you bringing with you that a battery powered solution cant accomplish? Not poking fun, genuinely curious.

I carry a Milwaukee M18 mid-torque impact with my twin. 600ft/lbs removal is more than enough for every bolt except the harmonic balancer. Even a small battery is enough to rotate several sets of tires.

    Milwaukee's high-torque has 1400 ft/lbs if you need more...

None actually, but when I asked about the difference in this thread it was stated the dual is if you want to run air tools. But if an additional tank is needed makes no sense to buy the dual is all. I'm just using it for airing up purposes.

So that is purely a volume equation. Most air tools are rated at consuming 3-6 CFM. The twin is rated for 6.1 CFM free flow(lower CFM under pressure) so you "could" almost continuously run lower consumption tools. The tank acts as a buffer to hold the pressure higher for longer period, giving the compressor a chance to kick on and maintain PSI. This also results in faster tire fills since you transfer high pressure air into low pressure vs trickle fill just above the tire PSI.

But lets be honest, for purely airing up purposes, 20 seconds faster per tire is not worth the hassle, space, and plumbing of a tank. I went with a twin because my old shittybilt took 10 minutes to fill a tire in Colorado.

So honesty I could get away with the single mounted under the hood?

The single will do just fine airing up tires. The dual is just going to do it faster with theoretically less heat buildup. The benefit of the dual is being able to run low CFM air tools and redundancy if for some reason 1 of the 2 compressors dies.

Who else makes a bracket for mounting a single under the hood besides slee?
