I plan on installing a lift on my 3rd gen, but unsure of the rear setup. I tow a 3500lb boat and trailer frequently. However, I have no plans for a cap, tent, or heavy bumper.

Should I go Dakar medium or heavy, or something else entirely?

Doesn't make any difference as long as the springs don't drop your safe payload capacity to lower than the tongue weight of the trailer + cargo in the truck. OME springs in MEDIUM duty configuration, compared to the factory springs, are ULTRA SUPER MEGA HEAVY DUTY.

.02, go HD. I went HD and wasn't planning a cap or to tow much. I have/do both and I'm happy and lucky I just went with HD from the start. I also have a high clearance rear bumper with swingout now too. Buy once cry once.

Thanks for the insight and help. It sounds like I shouldn't have an issue with either pack, but perhaps the HD is the way I should go. I don't have plans for a bed rack or tent, but that could change, knowing me...
