That was one of my grandest adventures. 1000+ miles of dirts roads and sub grade in Canada, lake fog that cut visibility to about the end of my hood. One night I slept about 4 hours in the right lane of a two lane highway and not a single car passed (unfortunately it was 31 degrees and i was out of gas). I’ve had a lot of trucks, from a $400 dollar 22re pickup to a 800hp duramax and this is taco has been the best $10k I’ve ever spent in my entire life. The 22re was a close second after I did a LCE race rebuild at 480k

I’m in timeout from adventures do to needing a fair amount of front end work, pretty sure that last adventure crushed all 4 ball joints and tie ends. Should be back to breaking stuff once I find $4-$5k

Wait you slept on the roof?? I'd have rather slept sitting up in the driver's seat than lay flat in freezing rain...

Well, I’m 6’1” and my cab was full to the point I couldn’t lean or slide enough to get my knees off the dash or horizontal enough to sleep. Freezing rain roof was a bit of a relief. When I was in Utah i slept for like two hours in the back seat on a pile of clothes and action packers....with my nose smooshed against the headliner.

Loving this thread and the confidence it is giving me to use the Tacoma to tow my Corvette track car.

This looks like fun, but I volunteer with a search team. This was just prior to unloading the ATV's. We were looking for a man missing over 2 years. This was one of the successful searches. We found his remains before 10AM.

Our search team drove to South Florida to deliver aid after hurricanes in 2017. I didn't drive my truck to Florida, but did collect donations that we loaded onto 18 wheelers for the trip south. Moore Haven 029.jpg

Pulling an F250 and stock trailer with a few cattle inside in the Utah desert. Their truck wouldn't shift into 4X4 and couldn't get enough traction to pull the trailer up a gravel covered hill. It is steeper than the photo shows.

Thanks! Unfortunately the t100 is a rusty mess and only has a few good parts. My Tacoma has handled everything with relative ease.

the few times Ive towed stuff (10-15 times) its fairly simple with the taco
If anything the braking is a weak link in the process & the suspension goes all wacko (headlights to sky mode)
but towing/pulling (up to) 5000 pounds is no big deal for the 4.0 motor/taco drive train

if I did tow mode more often on my taco, Id modify the suspension & braking to accomodate
but for my day to day needs if will suffice for now

keep on pulling & trucking bud!
    & keep them pics coming

You might want to do some searching over in the Lighting forum on aftermarket headlight housings / assemblies. To sum it up, there's a lot of aftermarket housings available out there. None of them last as long as or perform as well as OEM. Problems include water intrusion, poor beam pattern and oxidizing even faster than the OEM housings. Just be careful.
