I went off season. End of October. I saw 6 people, one cat off-leash. I picked up way too much trash for being months after peak season. People don't seem to be able to behave outdoors in general. Population control would help, but education would help more betterer. I have seen so much human/dog shit, trash, abandoned trailers, truck-loads of trash dumped on public lands. Hanging Lake is a much more sensitive ecosystem than where I've seen much of the mentioned issues.

Another large part of the issue that cause them to issue permits (and start a shuttle) is that people were circling the parking lot, getting on the interstate, driving ~10 miles round trip to come back and circle the parking lot. Waste of gas and clogging up the roads. If I were to ever go again, I would park in Glenwood and ride my bike on the nice paved path all the way there.

That's because your instagram game sucks. If you were in it for the double-taps, you'd be all up in that lake. Or is that why you left CO?!? :anonymous:

Stupid people were on that log when I went. I left Colorado because of the stupids taking over the state. Little did I know stupids are taking over the whole country.

What’s with everything being bolt on now?

:rofl:I have no problem welding sliders on. They should be and I need to do mine. But that is something that could be done several different ways and thats a big cavity with the tire gone to do other stuff where that bar had to be redesigned. Be a lot easier to do if you could just get the wrench out instead of the cutting wheel.

One of my wheelin buddys back home always carried a portable welder with him. It got me off the mountain several times and is a hell of a lot easier than gathering batteries to tie together.

I can understand that, but most of the stuff that brakes is bolted on. Sliders, shackle hangers, etc is not somthing your gonna fix on trail.

I can see where your coming from on the kick outs, I refer to mine as “bat wings” but they have helped me i a few situations push off trees and protected the rear tire and bed side from damage.
Non kick out is defiantly more streamlined looking

owner of another small company emailed me and told me I was a finalist but asked me to do a project by Friday for their technical test... including a 134 manual outlining the technical specifications of the data set they gave me

Structural CAD needs corrugated cardboard (shipping boxes and such) where as templates work great out of beer case boxes.

No. I wouldn't take them off as I'm probably keeping this truck forever. I just need to get over myself. Sliders would have helped at Devil's Gulch/Schofield Pass this past fall when I had to pivot around a giant boulder and not go off the edge into a few hundred foot incline to the river.

Well, first I have a 1st gen so I'm narrower than 2nd/3rd gens and get away with things I possibly couldn't have with a bigger truck. Also, my truck is quite the opposite of EAF point chasing and I want to keep it that way. Everything is functional, which is why I haven't had any armor for the 5 years I have had the truck and survived many trips to great places (Death Valley canyons, Moab, up and down the western half of the US) avoiding any real rock crawling. As time goes on, I just know that I'm pushing my luck and want to get some minimal armor on the truck before something happens. More important than ditch/raptor/rock lights, aftermarket wheels, etc are things that protect my investment rather than "enhance" it. I may still avoid an aftermarket front bumper and just went in a 2" receiver so that I can have a portable winch to use on front or rear.

Dude, tech interviews are pretty bull shit all around. I made it to Google onsites and it was 5 back to back hour long interviews that were honestly pretty brutal. I understand that they judge wit and communication but asking someone to write code for a board game/elevator/whatever brain teaser of the day is repeatedly is just exhausting

Oh, you don't remember how to balance a binary tree? sucks to suck. Not that you need to know that for the job but whatever

Im embarrassed at the amount of bolts I had left over when I bolted mine on, shit just didnt line up. But, I have had the weight of the truck on them and they are still there.

But I still want to weld them on to make up for the missing bolts and for my peace of mind knowing what that bag of bolts looks like.

Google is its own mind-fuck. They emphasize having the computer science fundamentals on LOCK DOWN and gauge your ability to do any job. Once you're in the door, it's easy to bounce between almost any team so having good concepts in general gets you a long way.
