hey all, i've got a dilemma and i need y'all's opinions.
short story is i just got myself an old Airco stick welder. everything is in good shape but the plug is an older style that is no longer standard (see pictures and the chart). i need to put a new 220 volt socket in anyways so right now it is just a matter of what style. at this point i have four options:

    1) get a 220 input put in that matches the one on my current welder. (#10-50 250v on chart)

    2) get two 220 volt sockets, one that matches the male end on my welder and another that is the new standard one.

    3) get a new style one installed and replace the old plug with the corresponding male end (#6-50 250v on chart)

    4) install a new-style plug and get an adapter made to transition between. this should be fine safety wise because the ratings for amperage and voltage are basically the same between the two.

it is also worth noting that i plan to get a plasma cutter and/or new stick or wirefeed welder in the somewhat near future.

    anyways, thoughts?
