I haven't fully installed it yet. I am in the middle of the install. I'll take pictures once it is in. But, just doing a fitment test, it seems to fit well.

^^^^ Looks great. I can see making a cover board for that box that would cover all the gaps left would be relatively easy using 1/4" wood sheet and covering in carpet or trunk liner.

report back on how it sounds if you get a chance.

I run the jl stealth box, with a jl 900/5 CD amp. The stealth box will require some trimming of the plastic panel. Still kind of new to the forums or else I would send pictures.

Pretty cool looking sub. Which one is it? Tang Band from Parts-Express?

Random Billy Joe Bob going by, just dropping another taco tune box pic. Also i got amp under driver seat so it gets cooling air as you drive.
Edit: works great even behind seat covers

You seem to know way more about this stuff but for my simple mind it actually sounds pretty good back there. It kicks quite hard, and it's not some top of the line sub, just a 12in image dynamics. :) changing the tweeters seemed to make a huge difference in my case.

Yes I run the system for hours in traffic and on road trips, never had a problem with it cutting out or go into safe mode. Been running this setup for 3 years now.

I was originally determined to keep the OEM plastic and made my own box that fit tightly back there (I trimmed a half moon out of the plastic for the bottom of the sub). It’s a slim 10in kicker.

    upload_2020-8-5_9-52-25.jpg

Soon after the newness of the truck wore off I ripped out all the plastic back there to utilize all the room that was wasted. No regrets, but I could have made the box slightly larger without the plastic there.
