A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
Would it be better in front to eliminate some of the road debris and excessive water from driving? Or is there not enough room there?

They’ll be sealed up well enough...door and rubber seal. I won’t put anything in there that I’m not okay with getting wet...or it’ll be in a waterproof box/bag. In front of the wheels will be for other stuff eventually.

Sure, always a possibility. Same chance with a $500 aluminum box too. These boxes will be much higher than the bedsides on a standard Tacoma bed. They’ll be just below the bottom of the frame...for reference.

You could always put a rear slider under them as well to help protect them.

I have holes already under my bumper for just that purpose. I’m going to see how everything moves together before I further constrain things. Don’t want one thing to tear apart another because it can’t move.

The list of things I want to change, make, re-make, test is sooo long. Haha...no rest for the clerk.

I only have snips too! That’s what makes this whole ‘project’ thing dangerous for me.

A little glueing and a lot of sanding.

    01F96D2F-76E2-49D7-9760-A7403FB6FB4D.jpg
Glued the ends on these bad boys. Tomorrow Or Thursday I’ll get these all sanded up and start getting the doors dialed in. Then epoxy fillets and glass...you know the drill.

    D7A67A35-0595-4357-B899-188C30BB7FBC.jpg
Then I sanded the second layer of fairing compound on the exterior. I can see how this is going to go. Lots of layers and lots of sanding. It’s actually pretty quick though.

    3A714F51-5871-4132-9CC3-8325FC278B7C.jpg
It’s VERY easy to see the big low spots...they’re still shiny. I’ll scrub this down with acetone then put another layer on. We’ll get there...eventually.

I’m not going to go so crazy on fairing out the roof. Can’t see it. Lazy? Or smart? Hmmm... As long as all the little divots and pinholes are sealed, it’s all good.

I’m planning to spend all weekend on this thing. Ideally, I’d have every surface that needs fairing covered with, at least, it’s first layer by the end of the weekend. Would be great to have sanded most of the first layer and started second or third layers of fairing but that feels greedy. Haha.

    Box work.

These seem to be coming along nicely. Still need to get hinges, various fasteners, latches and fiberglass. Believe it or not, I don’t actually have any fiberglass on hand.

I’m excited to get back on the camper but it takes time to get everything heated up and nice for working so I’ll save it for this weekend. Tomorrow night I’ll need to do a thorough cleaning! Put tools away, clean up sawdust, etc. The garage is trashed!

I'll admit I laughed a little when I read this...

After following all of your builds I see this statement as a misrepresentation of your true nature. I can't see you doing anything halfway... ;)

Did some errand running and a bit of garage cleaning this morning. Then got after the boxes and camper.

Did a bunch of epoxy fillet work and divot repair on one box. The other box will happen later this afternoon.

    801FEE36-9C20-4918-803B-A037C50A50C9.jpg
And I got the first round of fairing done on the back wall area. Front wall and some exterior work will happen with work round two later this afternoon.

I’m not super speeding through this but it feels like a decent pace tomorrow will be a lot of sanding and, hopefully, glassing the exterior of the boxes.

    Another box. Another wall.

Now I need to go do something active. A run around the neighborhood perhaps. Then I’ll reassess my evening plans.

I may have missed it, but I’m going to assume your painting the final product correct? If so, what type of paint is your plan? Only reason I ask is I’ve painted plenty of fiberglass work and have options if you’re looking for them

Yes. Paint. So, I test painted a panel with Petit EasyPoxy with the ol roll and tip process and the result was pretty good...and I can repair it at home, easily. But I am open to other easy to apply options! What u got?
