An employees of mine had her car stolen on Monday. She started it, got out and walked about 20' to make sure she locked her back door. As she turned around, she saw her car drive off.

If only we still had all the stuff he used to have. But when my uncle bought out the old store he was focused on paint, wallpaper and supplies...not electronic equipment. By 1970 it had been 4 years since anyone brought anything in for repair...though he did continue to sell tubes and batteries for a bit. No one, including my grandmother had any clue that some of that equipment would be worth anything in the future. 50 years ago it was just old shit taking up space.

 

Yes sir, all you need to do is store it for the 10-20-30 years it takes for it to change from old chit to collectible antique.

 

I've got a couple of Vac. Tube radios. One's a short wave, still use it today.

 

Still some call for tubes in the audio world. Stereo amps and guitar amps.

 

Takes a while to warm up but works great & I got spare tubes too.

 

On the back porch watching dawg chasing a squirrel. She caught one about 5 years ago. Now she just chases.

 

There's nothing like the glow of vacuum tubes. Mmm..memories.
