Sam OWNED that name when we were in college. You don't survive living in a barracks with 1200 other Type A personalities without that. The most savage jokes made at his expense were his own creations.

You have to.. or you’re gonna have a bad time.

And to think it wasn’t even for going to VT :hattip:

(I say as my team is getting routinely smashed in NCAAMBB right now)

Just what I’ve been up to lately. We hauled all this home and she says she wants to drink less.

Psyched it’s spring break this week. Ripe age of 34 in college, and this week off is going to feel glorious. Mechanical engineering has been dead, and obviously drinking more.

How are you liking those Cooper XLT's? I just got a set of those same Baja TRD wheels from that sale a couple weeks ago and I was thinking about getting a set of those in a 285 to mount on them. I was pretty stoked to find your build having that exact same set up. Any feedback you can give is much appreciated. Thanks

They ride great. Even tho they’re still load range E, they’re significantly different from the Duratracs they replaced.

Fuel economy is a touch better. Ride quality is very smooth. No balance issues. Haven’t had them in bad weather because it stopped snowing as soon as I got em on, but they’re rated for it so I don’t see why they’d be bad. All others with this series say they’re great, too.

Would definitely buy again, especially at their price point.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. I feel like I keep leaning towards these. I like that they are lighter than most of the other 285's. Pretty much everyone has good things to say about them.
I've also considered Falken At3W, STT Pro's, and Yoko MT.

2/3 of those are MTs, so you can’t even compare. I’d definitely go with Coopers without question, with S/T Maxx being the top end since it’s not a full blown MT.

20190405_064058.jpg I came from Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws to cooper XLTs. I was running 30psi on 32" AT3Ws P rated and now I have these XLTs 33psi on 33 E rated. I feel like they ride the same with lesser noise.

So yeah, I am really liking these XLTs... awesome and will buy again...
    Highly recommended

Nice! Thanks for that as well. That's a pretty sweet set up. I like those custom center caps. Are you running the same 285/75/16 size as well?

I haven’t been off road since being back home, but I have a hell of a guard for deer now until I do.

I forgot to ask you... what lug nuts are you using with those wheels?

The TRD ones sold from Toyota. Got them and the wheels at the same time. They’re pricey.

Full steel skids, sliders, aluminum bumper, and probably around 150# in the bed going 75-80 on the highway.

    These XLTs aren’t bad.
