You googled wrong. The engine you posted is a turbo. That’s what the T in 2.0T stands for ..

For future reference, that’s not how you present a point unless you’re on reddit or apparently TW. It’s not our job to research something that isn’t available, especially after the first example you posted contradicts your point (as seen from the manufacturers website).

You have the ability to use google, you can do some research of your own. And for the record, the website I was reading did not reference a “turbo” on the Chevy engine. Please get off your high horse and try to stop acting like a dick, there are already enough in the world

You are wrong, pure plain and simple. All those engines are forced induction. The highest horsepower na 4 banger I know of is in the Honda S2000. It had 220 hp at 9000 rpm. Kinda useless for a truck.

I’m wrong, I get it. But the point is still these trucks are very underpowered for being a truck

Imo if the truck had more power lower in the rpm range people would like it better. Just move the hp, torque curve around. All it would take is some changes in the computer.

It has the hp just put it at a different place.

You came at me about engine compression ratios and pivoted, then you were wrong. Instead of everyone always dropping their two cents trying to upstage someone, they should take a second to know what they’re posting.

If telling you that you’re wrong is being a dick, mercy.

Truck is a midsized V6. It provides the power that the market it’s advertised SHOULD expect. People rambling about these engines being underpowered is like buying a Civic and complaining it isn’t a ten second car. If people want higher output motors, they should have bought bigger trucks.

I’m saving my money up for new gears. It’s about 2x more than tunes if you buy full members, but I much prefer mechanical shifting of power versus software. Probably just my old Subaru still giving me chills, but it is what it is.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
V6 with V8 horse power uses more gas than a V8...

You’ve never driven a first gen 4 cylinder tacoma have you? These third gens are absolute beasts compared to those. There is nothing to complain about with 275hp in a midsize truck.

I wasn’t comparing, just pointing out there is not a 300+ hp 4 cylinder naturally aspirated. I will say these turbo 4 cylinders would be great in a truck. They have a low rpm flat torque curve with plenty of torque. Ford is doing it, and I recall a turbo Toyota 22r pickup.
