Truck Being Shipped - Things to Check for Upon Delivery

    Hey guys,

    I've been looking for a Tacoma for awhile. After being jerked around by local dealers and being told that it would take 6 months plus to order a TRD Off Road 4x4 DCLB with premium and Tech, I got in contact with a dealership in Denver CO who had plenty on the lot and was more than happy to do business with me.

    Truck was picked up today and is being delivered to me Friday. Anyone have experience with 3rd party delivery? The dealership arranged this and I have read the shipping companies policies. Ie. Any damage must be documented on the bill of lading before being unloaded. Long story long, any advice on inspection. Obviously I'm going to give the truck good visual inspection.

    Thanks to TW my garage is full of some minor additions to add this weekend if the snow stays away!

    Hopefully after the prep, they didn't wash it.
    They usually come in on rail and rail dust/brake dust gets in the paint. When they prep and wash it they are only grinding it in the paint.

    You need a proper clay bar before washing and applying sealant.

    A few additions to make me feel cool.
    I would recommend washing it. I always find imperfections as I am washing that I do not when I am looking for them. Part of the deal for me when I buy something new is that I have to take it home and hand wash it. The sales guy is welcome to come but without it is a deal breaker.

    Thanks all. I've got my detail guy meeting me when the truck gets here to help take a look before the transport company unloads it. Then he is going to clean and wax it for me.
