If you had 4wd I'd tell you to get wildpeaks and call it good. I have 4wd and wildpeaks and I do great in a lot of snow. Just this week I was in the middle of a frozen lake with 8 inches of snow on top going around setting traps just fine.

But with 2wd the wildpeaks don't cut it in snow. If snow is a serious concern, get snow tires on a 2wd, otherwise you will really regret it the first time you come to a stop at the bottom of a snowy hill and need to get to the other side.

This..... I'm in Northern MI and we regularly see snow and temps so low that salt won't work (we use sand mostly on the roads).

I'm running Cooper AT3 4S on mine now... Amazing tire for the price and for the overall performance. It's not as good as a snow tire, but I'm also comfortable running it year-round. You'll find the performance better by having good all seasons on your front wheels due to the steering and braking characteristics of these trucks. I think a balanced setup like that will be far better for you in all conditions year round and probably cheaper than maintaining 4 tires for the summer and then a winter set.
