Actually a traction deletion - no rear locker on TRD Sport 4x4

Because hi speed and long travel with less stuff to break. This is my eventual plan anyway.

But then you don't pay a stupid premium for remarkably mediocre shocks that you're immediately going to replace with kings!! Are you crazy man!?!?!

Methinks they should probably just start with a 2WD SR then...

No more LSD in the sport. All non-locker Tacos now have electronic brake distribution style open-but-pretends-to-be-an-LSD style diffs.

Is it worth it with the current powertrain? I get what you would be going for but the 3rd gen seems like it would leave a lot to be desired if your wanting to go fast

In addition to the Locker, the same electronic LSD is also in the OR and Pro

My dad has a second gen in this config and loves it. You get the interior TRD upgrades and for most people 2wd is more than sufficient and you’ve got the locker if it gets too bad. Save some money and get a little bump in fuel Economy too

Look at the hood swapping thread, that scoop is a bro magnet. It's pages and pages of "WTT no scoop for a scoop" ... imagine being the only girl on tinder, that's how many responses you get if you wanna trade a scooped hood.

Oh yeah you're right- it's on every model, as a traction mode. It's not terrible actually, I used it a number of times and while a real LSD or locker reacts faster/works better, it will keep you from total 1 wheel burnout status.

The same as ALL Tacomas, the Sport after the 2005-2008 models has the same traction as a base Tacoma. You are paying thousands for a decorative hood scoop and colored bumpers... I just don't get it, lol!

    None as of yet
You can go a ton of places with 2wd. Before I converted my jeep to 4x4 it would still go up some gnarly hills. Just need a bit of a running start sometimes. now add a locker and you can still go a stupid number of places. And a lot of go fast guys are 2wd. Not everyone crawls and overlands with their trucks.

Not all off-road scenarios require 4WD.

I have a 4wd but I live in Phoenix, to be honest I'm not sure I've been in a situation yet where 4wd was a must. I've put the truck in it many times when trucking through various trails but even in 2wd this thing seems pretty capable (in AZ)
