I’m wanting to do a 3”/2” lift on my 2019 Tacoma. From reading on here it seems as if that combo will lift the truck while also leveling it.

    My questions:

Will I need to do the diff drop spacers with a 3” lift?

Can I get my with not doing the upper control arm, and if not what’s the cheapest one to by that will work? Thier seems to me conflicting commentary on this topic.

I’m going to run the 17x8 TRD Pro knock off wheels, I think they are called FN FX or something like that. 285/75/17 or 285/70/17 Tires?

I’m guessing I also have to do the CMC also right?

Thanks! The forum is so overwelmed with information that it’s hard to get actual answers that are clear.

    diff drop is useless.

you'll need uca's for caster correction.
cmc/pinch weld foldover/trimming will be needed, it will be needed less if you go with 255/80/17 or 255/85/16

you have been reading, how refreshing......yes just do it during the lift install. I thought I wouldn't need it, then a week later the vibration started. So yes definitely get it done.

I told you I’ve been reading a lot on the forum but the overwelming amount of information is just that, overwelming. It’s also conflicting on various topics also.

What’s the cheapest UCA? Is it absolutely necessary on the Tacoma? I lifted my 2014 4Runner and didn’t end up needing it. The alignment was fine.

if your 2" and over yes on the uca's. SPC, JBA, Camburg, Icon, TC they all are around the same price. You want 3-4 degrees of caster. The tracking will be great and you'll get some more clearance.

side note on uca's, if you live in a snow are where they salt the roads I wouldn't get open ball uca's. I would go spc/jba, they have a grease zerk and are covered well against the elements. I live in the desert and am running camburg uniball's. I clean them and lube after a rain storm or washing the truck. Also clean and lube twice a month. So yea alot of maintenance.

If you need the removal tool, send me a pm. I have one you can borrow if you like.

Some people need the bushing others don’t. Buy one and removal tool so you have it on hand if you need it. If you don’t sell it on here once you get to 50 post. I know a lot of people who lifted their 16+ and didn’t need it. I am one of them.

I'm not sure why some people say this? I had 4Wheel Parts do my Pro Comp spacer lift and it came with the diff. drop. I have nearly 10k miles on my truck and no vibrations!

I have the ReadyLift 3/2" lift, no diff drop or UCAs - had to do the CMC since I'm running 17x8.5 with 4.5" backspacing (-10mm offset?) and 285/70s.

    Got any pics?

That’s probably the setup I’ll go with. I don’t mind doing the CMC since I can weld it myself. I keep reading about hearing issues, and the trans not engaging 5th, and such. So I’m thinking the 285/70/17 would be s better fit for my needs.

Unfortunately our trucks, even with the V6 is just underpowered.

You can look in my media folder by clicking on my profile - I have some pictures there. Not sure if you have a Short Bed, but I have the Long Bed.

I just saw them. That’s the look I’m going for. Thanks. Any issues with the trans not engaging 5th or weird shifting issues? How’s the gas mileage?

What can I use to recalibrate the speedo after the bigger tires?

the idea of a diff drop is to return the driveline angles back closer to stock, from what I have seen on the 3rd gen it makes very little difference. Vibrations are a whole other subject.

3' ready lift, 285 feds, 2'' wheel spacer.
I got a 3'' ready-lift with stock uca. My alignment is great, rides great. Have stock wheels with a 2'' spacer no rubbing.

No issues with the transmission as of yet - I have about 4k miles into this set up for reference. Gas mileage is around 15-16 mixed and I've confirmed the dash reading versus gas pump math and they are very similar.
