So after a about a month of owning my truck I noticed the plastic underbite piece on my bumper (sorry I don't know the term for it) looked like it was coming loose. Took it to the dealership they swapped it out but after the swap it almost looks like it got worse. Instead of arguing with my dealership I decided I was just being picky and decided to try to forget about it. Buuuuuut now I feel like it's getting worse. Have any of you guys had a problem with this piece not sitting snug? IMG_20190226_134704.jpg

You can pop it off and rebrand those tabs in the middle so it clips better. However a lot of times trying to take those off they will break. You might be able to try and get a hook pick in there and bend them without removing the entire piece. Then push it back in and see if it holds. Or try to get to it from behind and push the clips up or down with a screw driver if one will fit and you can get in there. My guess is you won’t be able to. Those type of clips suck. It’s been a problem on these trucks and on other vehicles as well

You’re not being picky, it’s also not going to heal itself. New truck, expect it to hold together for the duration of warranty at least. Have it fixed at the next service point if you don’t wish to make a special trip.

Fairly common reason why I haven’t had mine redone by the dealer is it might get worse just like your experience. I just left it as is. Maybe I might just shove some jbweld inside lol.

Sucks this is a problem but good to know I'm not alone... I'll try to bend the clip a little like you said to see if that fixes it, thank you!

I’d just get a tube of Goop and glue it back in place.184A569F-DCD6-40C9-91D5-BA7FA233BED6.jpg

I took mine back to the dealer under warranty and had it replaced. It had came loose at the same spot. That piece was back ordered so I had to wait for it to come in.

Mine does it too, just cheap plastic toyota uses to save some pennies. For shame Toyota, for shame. Also the dealer told me to go pound sand when I pointed it out at last service

Mine does this exact same thing. I had dealer "fix" it twice. Still looks like yours. I just said F it, i'll live with it. but every time i walk around the front of the truck my eye catches it and it irritates me haha. Just going to end up swapping in a slimline bumper at some point anyway so i stopped pursuing it at the dealer. As said above, shame on you Toyota.

I'm totally with you man...I cannot find that piece on mine.

I don't have anything like that on my 2016 TRD Sport......Seems like the fellas talking here about it have 17's and 18's...:confused::confused:

The pic does not look like the front bumper.

EDIT".... AH, I just realized that you are showing the front bumper partly off. It needs to be pushed inward.....

It’s the plastic insert on the front of the bumper on the OR’s. Same color as the flares. Sports don’t have the black trim, it’s all color matched. Not sure if the other bumpers are all one piece or the front parts snaps in like on the OR

yeah, I have one of those, but it's not "off" like the one in the pic.

I fingered it out finally....
