The choice is dependent on each and every persons needs/wants. If you want to build a PRO go for it. If you want to build an OR, get moving. SR absolutely, SR5 great idea, Limited of course you just got a lot of blacking out to do (jk). Edit sorry sport guys..mod the hell outta those sumbitches!

Why is there so much PRO hate in this forum? I’m happy with my truck, most likely will never do a suspension lift and no desire to put *potentially* lower quality parts on it. I agree that one can potentially build an equal or beytruck for less money, but it’s not for everyone and that doesn’t mean it’s always better. I have factory engineered parts with 100k warranty and my job pays for my truck. For me in my particular situation it is a no brainer. That and I’ve been waiting for my “special” color for two years.

I have complete respect for the person who builds their off-road or SR or SR5 or limited for that matter. Shouldn’t we bash the nissans or prious? Anyway good look with everyone’s choice, Limited,SR5, SR, Off-Road or Pro. You all choose wisely for your needs.

If your buying based on resale value it’s your money and your just settling for a vehicle based on one aspect.

Oh and 47k for mine , OR was 42k. Not a large spread in my case. But I’ve been driving a paid off vehicle for many years and saved.

New to this site but have been on various car forums since the early 2000s. Nowhere else have I seen such weird animosity among different trim levels. Like people here are legit offended that someone else decided to buy a Pro. They hate on the truck. They hate on the owner. I don't get it. "wHY dId yOu BuY A pRO iF uRR gOnNa mOD iT??" This is a strange place.

It is a strange thing. Even Guys taking smack about the hood scoop on the sport. I remember my Harley days, had a 01 1200C. Sweet bike fun around town and did well on the highway. Guys with Ultras and Softtails would talk so much shit. Ending up getting a Softtails so my wife would have more room...man I heard so much crap about it being a girls bike. Point is for SOME people whatever your got is shit unless you have the exact thing they got. It's sad really, with that mindset we all would be driving the same junk with the same mods. That is way to conforming for my taste.

It really is. So much contention over $5k. Also, let’s not get it confused, the animosity is only in one direction and it’s very strange.

In some cars $5k an option for seats. But we’ll have one of these threads each week either way.

For real.... The "Lux" package on my raptor was over $9k.....
I haven't found a dealer around me charging a ADM on Pro's. More like the few I contacted were trying to deal them as they had multiple sitting on the lot.

    Canada Eh!
In Canada, the Pro is the only way to get a double cab with the factory locker and a 6 speed manual. For me, the slight lift on the Pro is about all I want. Gotta wait to see the 2020's in person to convince me to drop that kind of coin!

The pro is a good choice, I’ve never thought I should have gotten anything else.

I love my OffRoad... No scoop, 4 doors, shortbed... Added 3" all around, 33's, front and rear bumpers, winch skid and sliders... All I need for now.

I got the pro over the OR for aesthetic reasons mostly.

As soon as I got it, I started off roading my 5th gen 4Runner. I plan to off road the pro in a few years as well. Too nice (and expensive) to do it now :D

Good point. I also considered the SR5 over the Off-Road, but wanted the extra luxury shit in the cab, the rear locker & Crawl Control. I may never use the Crawl Control, but glad I have it.

Now If I couldn't have afforded the Off-Road, I would have grabbed an SR5 over a SPORT.

My problem in life is that I cannot leave anything alone including a Pro. So I bought the off-road to keep me occupied.

I like the steps. And, as for the wheels, two kids in college prevent me from getting the wheels that I already picked out. Cut a Taco brother some slack.

No longbed option in the Pro made my choice easy.

    I also hate sunroofs.

I figure my Pro is actually going to save me money in the long run.
I have a history of modifying my trucks, and typically go through 2 or 3 suspension changes before I settle on the right one.
With the Pro, I’m not likely to mess with the suspension at all. I’m just going to bump up one tire size when the originals wear out.
