the apple just does nothing for me personally, but none of the 3 bottles I tried of theirs impressed me.

KC single barrel picks have came a long way, most are coming out at 13+ years.

I didn't care for my first pour, but loved the rest of the bottle. It's been my fastest kill

Added two more to the stable. Picked up the McKenna today, and a buddy brought me the Elijah Craig this weekend (and we may have drank a few Saturday night lol)

The Elijah is good, but a bit harsh compared to some other bourbons I like. Just tasted the McKenna, a bit spicy with a burn that is the good kind. Me likey

Pretty nice dent for "a few".

Good pickups. That McKenna is really nice. Hard to find in some areas. It won some awards in 2017 and there was a big rush on it. I think it is a great Eagle Rare challenger.

My buddy procured a bottle of Booker's 2015-01 for me that I picked up today. I now have a backup of my absolute favorite batch of Booker's up to this point. If you happen across a bottle of 'Big Man, Small Catch
Batch', pick it up. It's fantastic. Hop to crack one this weekend!

Four Roses Small Batch is very good. I actually prefer that over the EC Small Batch. I recently finished off a bottle of Buffalo Trace. I liked that as well, but I still thought Four Roses SB tops it.

For Japanese whiskey, Hibiki Harmony is my favorite, followed by Nikka Coffey Grain.

I made it home from Ohio with my Weller SR 1.5 liter and Old Forester Statesmen in tact. I was a bit worried about my impromptu packing - only had a carry on roller bag and a backpack with me - but the roller survived baggage handlers without breaking and dumping nearly 3 liters of bourbon in the cargo hold. On the flight I kept thinking "if it breaks, would the smell of bourbon make it up to the cabin?".

While in the various airports I stopped in a few bars/restaurants to have a drink. Sadly, they had few selections and most was standard stuff. The exception being a bottle of Balvinie 17 Double Wood. It was pretty impressive, despite being $25 for a stingy pour.

I might need to give that a go. Just finished a bottle of buffalo trace and I really liked it but it’s hard to find around here. Four roses is everywhere with multiple selections so I check for the small batch.

On the back-half of my home finished concoction and it's really starting to mellow and become more cohesive the more I dip into it. I aged some port in a small cask for a bit over a month, then dumped the cask and rinsed it out thoroughly. I put a mixture of 50% Makers Cask Strength and 50% Larceny in the cask and let it sit for a day and a half before bottling it. For my first attempt at finishing I'd say this port finished wheater is pretty good. Maybe not better than the sum of it's parts, but definitely unique and very enjoyable after decanting. I'm still amazed at the color that the bourbon picked up after such a short time in the barrel.

I've liked all three Four Roses bottles I've tried. Their Single Barrel is also very tasty.
