My truck was low on trans fluid for quite some time, bought it new, and it’s running pretty much 100% now that they have the right amount in now. Luckily they are a cool dealership and want to take care of my truck

I’m taking it back to my dealer to make them double check everything, It still acted weird a few days after getting filled properly...
But hasn’t done it now for several days

Is it a good idea to make them change the transmission fluid early since I drove it so long while low?

The fluid should be fine. If you can get them to replace it hey more power to you. Also ask them for any TSB updates. The new one is a good update. It did wonders for my truck.

If I were every new 3rd gen owner I’d either make the dealer check the level or do it yourself. My 19 was having a rough up shift when cold until warmed up shortly after I got it. Took it to the dealer and they pulled the usual normal BS. On the way out I bought a quart, topped it off after it got cold and did the level check with the temperature mode. It took 3/4 of that quart and it shifts fine now cold or warmed up.

Personally I’d just buy the fluid and do a drain and fill myself. Then you know it’s done and accurate. It’s a simple process.

    It’s most likely an AT

It’s about 5 minutes more to do in the auto than the MT. I’ve done both. If you can do an oil change, you can do the trans fluid.
