WASHINGTON — The soap opera unfolding in an eagle nest 110 feet above D.C. took a sad turn Friday.

Bald eagle Liberty — whose longtime mate Justice flew the coop just a few days after she laid the first of two eggs this season — appears to have abandoned her eggs and left the nest in the company of another male eagle she was seen mating with.

“There’s no possible way those eggs would hatch at this point,” said Tommy Lawrence, managing director with the Earth Conservation Corps, which maintains the eagle webcam that broadcasts the doings in the nest. “They’ve been left in the cold for way too long, and so those eggs are gone for now.”

The normally staid eagle nest above the D.C. police academy in Southwest D.C. has been beset by uncharacteristically high drama this year, including Justice’s sudden disappearance and the arrival of two rival suitors who both tried to court Liberty.

“This has never happened before,” Lawrence said of the comings and goings, which have been breathlessly followed and documented by watchers of the 24-hour eagle cam. “In the eagle cam world, we were always known as the beginner nest. So for anybody who was new to watching eagle cams, they would recommend watching our nest, just because typically there has been no drama and it’s been an easy ride.”

New trigger group for the Evo. Polished all the friction points. Tomorrow, new trigger shoe and reduced weight springs should be here.
Hand polish only. Used Diamond Brite Truck Box Polish and a tshirt. Very easy to feel how much smoother it is.

Yeah. Saw one guy that was selling a bunch of oe parts for cheap. Had a couple housings, end plates, comps and more. By the time I saw it and contacted him, it had been sold.
For now, itll just have to stay in place instead of swapping.

Which ruger American rifle were you guys talking about? Which caliber and model should I get? They have the predator model as well but that’s over $400. This a good deal for $299?

I’ve got the American ranch in 300BLK and the American Predator in 308

Ranch was 400 and predator was 429 I think? Both rifles are absolutely awesome!!

Yea I haven’t seen any issues with mine. The Ranch is the pmag version but has a sticky bolt but it is getting better with time. The Predator is absolutely perfect.

Slap a Vortex on those and you’ve got a really good cheap rifle

So worth it to go with the predator model? Would you go 300blk or .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor?

I love the 308 but there are some big 6.5 fanboys out there. Ballistics show that the 6.5 is a very flat shooting round

300blk is great at 75 yards but past that is a stretch lol

I wanted the short 18” barrel so I could sling the rifle and stomp through the woods without a foot of barrel catching every limb overhead. I also wanted something that if I dropped it in the mud or scratched the finish, I wouldn’t cry myself to sleep over
