I have some aluminum wheels that came on my Tacoma, pretty sure they are aftermarket. They can be seen below.

They are lacking anything resembling a clearcoat now, having been abused over the years by the PO. Everything from using the wrong lugs on the wheels so the tools stripped the clearcoat in the lug wells (leading directly to all of it chipping off) to backing the truck into salt water retrieving boats.

I like the wheels, but don't want to put a lot of money into them in terms of refinishing. Anyone got ideas or experience here? I can provide better pics if need be.

I hadn't even thought of that. DUH.

I assume I'd need some sort of drill attachment? Sure that could be done by hand, but I'm lazy. ;)

How much work are we looking at doing to maintain something like this? I'd like to use these wheels for my street tires, especially as they will also fit my SAS S10 (81 Wagoneer axles)

Well I have new tires and wheels on the way, plan is to take the tires off these and chuck them, then take my time with the cleaning.

If I can't get the spots out, I'll go Rustoleum hammered finish, probably Dark Bronze.
