sheesh... I'm trying to buy a truck, not a hotel chain.
    $329 for rubber floor mats?
$69 for a phone charger that doesn't fit my phone?
$649 for running boards that I don't want?
$699 for a couple oil changes, four tire rotations, and paint sealant?
base price $150 above what the Toyota site shows - for what?

This junk puts the price up to the "my first house" level.

Don't even get me started on "dealer fee" $800 for what?

I need a stiff drink, and a 25% discount, please.

whew, thanks for letting me rant and do the "get the hell off my lawn" thing.
I'm in shock since my last truck (04 Dakota four door) was $18000 out the door.

$18,000 in 2004 is equal to $24,500 in 2019 dollars. Then look at all the equipment a new taco has vs a 2004 Dakota, and you bridge that price difference pretty quickly. That said, Tacoma’s are expensive.

I think I paid around 35.5k and sticker was 38.4k. I should have pushed harder but felt I got a decent deal as it was the exact truck I wanted. This was in Jan 2018 fwiw.

Also, a hotel chain is probably a better purchase...passive income ftw!

Laughs in CA realty prices. There is nothing Toyota or Lexus sells that even goes off half of what our starter home here goes for :(

Are those being sold as new didn’t see them on the Lexus website? The most expensive base price I saw was the LC 570 3 row.

You aren't required to get any of those "options..." it's how they line their pockets. Just kindly say no thanks and move on

Right around 36 for '18 DCLB OR 4x4 with tech package. I didn't really want the tech, but this one didn't have the predator steps (I plan on putting sliders on). This is 2019 and I can use 36 as a down payment on a house, but that is only about a quarter of a home in my area... maybe you bought your first house in 1975?

I wish I could have got the truck (realistically) for 33, granted I wish it was right at 14, but I am pretty happy with it so far and just fixing to cross 22,000 on the odometer.

Best option I did was "floormat delete" and put Husky Weatherbeaters in for half the price.

Welcome to the forum. You need to find a different dealer, I skipped all that crap by getting a Costco quote and then shopping that price to different dealers. I ended up getting almost a thousand below the Costco number when I was done.

There should be some Tacoma's out there that do not have any dealer/port accessories. You just have to search a little. All of the OEM accessories can be purchased and added later at a huge savings.
Also, my doc fee was $300 USD. Still a rip-off but ...

Half of those $$$ pays to any mechanical or cosmetics issues of the trucks that is still under warranties so toyota is not paying for it..

I had the dealer take off a lot of stuff. Take out the floor mats, take off the running boards. My dealer didn't charge for the up to 25K oil changes and tire rotation. Wasn't added on the cost breakdown but we all know, I paid for it one way or another.

You can always just buy a stripped Kia and enjoy it for much less. Let us know how it goes.
