@MattCowsmasher recommended 32 psi the other day. I've been riding on that since HF and it is a bit better than 55psi where they had been.

A little something every chance we get.
OK, now HERE'S a mod question I can afford. What I got: 265/75R16 112T Ironman AT on Chrome Toyota 6 lugs. New when I got her.
When I brought it home, they were all at 28, looked all flabby and low, and the tire warning light was on (one was defective).
So, I set them to 32, and they still looked really flabby, MPG was then hitting like 16.
After a couple fill ups, I took them to 40, and got 1 mpg better, and they didn't look underinflated any more.
After a Toyota service, they of course set them to 35, and they looked OK, and then I had some 17-18 fill ups. (not many)
Discount Tire fixed the TPMS, and set them to 35.
With the exception of the HF air down and back up, I've left them there.

Why would you go to 55-60?

55-60 if I was towing something super heavy, I think you should go with what Toyota says for on a stock truck 40 might get better milage but may cause uneven wear in the tire.

55-60 sure seems high, I didn't see appreciable difference at 40, and honestly felt like ice skates sometimes. Only reason I could see you all that high is if yours were "truck load" rated, like we used to get for old cargo vans in the rock and roll days.

The 255's are dually tires. BFG recommends 55psi for them. I'll admit that works good and well for a one-ton but it is overkill for our light trucks.

Not wanting to expose too much rubber to the road, I run them at the recommended pressure.
