Car wash damage

I had this same damage done to the rear passenger quarter panel on my 2nd gen. I also had a gas station carwash rip the driver side mirror right off my 1st gen. And yet I still use damn carwashes...albeit a different new one that just opened in town. FFS I'm thick headed... I will reconsider this trend for my 3rd gen. even though it's been through the new wash a few times already with no damage. Maybe I'll use the touchless ones...

 

I don't think it "hits" so much as "pushes" real hard into the sheet metal. Also the wash is very noisy when you're running through them so it can be hard to hear the metal flexing when the brushes are working...

 

Uh, ill stick with a bottle of simple green, shop towels, and a pressure washer, chief.
