Hello everyone, new here. I have a 2017 4 door TRD off road with Goodyear wrangler Kevlar tires. I just turned 23K mileage and noticed both front inside tires are wearing exceptionally fast, from the first tread groove inward. Anybody out there having this problem or heard of this issue....Thanks. Gary

32-35 psi cold... I previously owned a 2004 TRD Taco with same prob, Toyota replaced the ball joints, said there was a service bulletin on them. Cost me nothing.
But hard to believe worn out with less than 40K

Do you rotate your tires every 5k miles like your required maintenance tells you to?

No. Regardless of tire position, they will wear the same in the front position. Over all the vehicles I have had I usually rotate at about 30k, half life of tire and have had excellent wear. 5K is bullshit in my opinion. I believe this is either an adjustment problem or a worn out part problem.

No no no. You have 23K on this vehicle. That means your data on rotation had to come from previous vehicles. Except, every vehicle is different, so history can only be used as a guide, not definitive rule.

With that said, on some vehicles the fronts wear different than the rears. If the rears wear even and the fronts wear the outside edge, when you rotate front to rear you get more tire life. Logic.

I've had some vehicles I NEVER had to rotate. I've had some I had to rotate every 5K. So far on this truck, after studying the difference between front and rear tire wear, 10K looks like a good figure for my vehicle and driving habit. Most mileage for me is interstate.

It could be alignment but I doubt it. Rotate the tires every 10K oil change. You will have a much longer lasting set of tires.

When was the last time you had an alignment?

Your PSI is a bit high for stock tires, you aren't rotating your tires, and you dont think you need an alignment....

Good luck OP, sounds like you have the answer already.

Uneven tire wear means bad alignment but you feel like you don’t need one.

    You don’t rotate your tires.

    This is a bad mix.

Well like I said I previously owned a 2004 TRD off road which developed the same prob at around the same mileage. The fix for this was the ball joints which had a recall/ service bulletin out on them. My 2007 Taco TRD had zero probs with tire wear. Taking truck to dealer tomorrow since still under warranty. I will update page when I can...thanks....Hopefully alignment is all it needs.

There’s no recalls for ball joints on the 3rd gen.

Your 2007 had an alignment in spec.

Go to the dealer and pay the $80-100 to get it aligned.

    You'd be surprised...
I'd guess your toe is zero to toe-out.
Myself and others were told 2 free alignments by the dealer. I had one done at less than 5,000...

I have the exact same problem. Practically the exact same truck. Any resolution from your dealer?
