How much does it cost to build a house ?

 

Wife and I just priced one out, think it’s gonna be my arm and leg soon

Roughly, 1800 sq ft

 

Horse barn is cheaper

 

There is a House Barn about 6 miles away from where I live that is for sale. Right on the river and comes up with a 2015 diesel Class A that is stored in said barn. Couldn’t get the wife to go for it

 

I can’t find the listing anymore, I’d say it was about 15 years old.

 

We built a metal barn on slab. Our next house

 

Building one right now - An arm and leg is about right. Throw in your sanity while you're at it because it will make you crazy too

Are your cast in Simpson straps just hold downs for wind loading or seismic / lateral restraint ?

and are you pouring suspended slabs ? Just curious on your protruding rebar stems

Those are seismic / lateral restraints. The rebar stems are actually bolts. It's all about livin' on the fault line

 

Interesting , never seen the strap style used in lateral restraint , here we use the hold downs that attach to bolts or redi rod cast in the concrete
